Stade Bauer RETURN TO BAUER. In August, Jean-Claude Bras envisaged a return to Red Stars' mythical Stade Bauer home at the start of 2002. As the work to replace the dameged roof of the Main Stand (Rue Bauer) will not start until February, then it appears that the club will be staying put at Marville at least until the end of the current season.
A WIN. Watched by forty-odd spectators, Red Star beat Levallois last Saturday in a friendly game. In a game of very few chances, Arthur Gomis scored the only goal of the game after 71 minutes play. New signing Moussa Dagnogo played, and hit the bar with a powerful header. Also taking part was a 25-years old Brazilian.
Meanwhile, on the injury front, the season appears to be over for Cédric Sabin who made a 25-minutes appearance at Nancy before limping off. Also out are Ville Andersson and Habib Sissokho at least until the end of the year. Meanwhile Fabrice Moreau is still injured but Boumendjel is on the road to recovery.
COUPE GAMBARDELLA. In the last round, Red Star beat Sannois-Saint-Gratien, 1-0
SAD NEWS. We were all shocked to hear of the recent death of former Red Star man, Cédric Lestic at the age of 23. Lestic, who played one season for Red Star in the National before moving on to Besançon collapsed and died of a heart attack during training with his new club Cherbourg. One of the true gentlemen of the game, Cédric leaves a widow and a newly-born baby. Our sincerest condolencies go out to his loved ones.

Serge Mésones

SERGE MESONES. Journalist and former footballer Serge Mésones has passed away. Cup finalist with Auxerre in 1979, as well as a player with Nancy, Serge was closely linked to Red Star, and wrote several articles in the sporting press, as well as contributing an article for a Red Star match programme in 1993. Or condolencies to his family.
PARIS FC – RED STAR. The recent friendly at the Porte de Montreuil ended in a 3-2 defeat for the Red Star. Watched by a few dozen supporters, in a stadium which with its fences appears to be like a prison, Red Star lined up with an ever-lengthening injury list. Sissokho, Sabin, Boumendjel, Andersson, Moreau all out through injury, so in came Emmanuel Souloy and Moussa Dagnogo both triallists. Vincent Guérin also got a run-out, and played the full game. Moussa Dagnogo opened the scoring in the 21st minute, only for PFC to equalise on the stroke of half-time. Red Star changed things around for the second half, bringing in reserve team keeper Guillaume Foulon for Fabrice Bruneau. PFC went 3-1 up, only for Moussa Dagnogo to pull one back for the visitors. He did leave a god impression on the game, but will he be kept as a replacement for the absent strikers ?
PARIS FC (CFA) - RED-STAR (CFA) : 3-2 (1-1). Referee : M. Mailly. Goals Paris FC : Tenawa M'Bodjui (44 & 65) ; Baily (80) ; Red Star : Dagnogo (21 & 83).
