CHRISTMAS CHEER ?. For the Red Star - La Chapelle game, a few more Red Star supporters came out of the woodwork. Extremely noisy, as usual, the faithful huddled in the TinCanStand to keep out a biting chill wind got behind their team for the whole of the game. Several players were lauded individually, especially the goalkeeper Fabrice Bruneau (photo). Opposite, numbers were down, perhaps thirty VIPs in the main stand, silent as usual. GAMBRADELLA. In the freezing cold of the Ile des Vannes, Red Star received a bit of a thumping at the hands of Mulhouse, 1-4. Red Star fell behind 3-0 at half time, Red Stars' kids rallied a little in the seond period, but failed to fight back. Of the three goals conceded, one was blatently off side, another was a dodgy penalty, so Red Star have reason to feel aggrieved. Red Stars' M'Bongou missed a seond half penalty, but still managed a consolation goal before Mulhouse sealed the tie in the dying seconds with a fourth goal. |
