TAKEOVER BIDS According to Le Parisien, there are four possible candidates in the running to take over at Red Star. They are :Jean-Yves Le Gourrierec, aged 50, boss of a communications society whom has been living in Saint-Ouen for five years; Eric Charrier, aged 38, also in communications and marketing, a former amateur footballer; William Delannoy, aged 38, former manager of the Puces market at Saint-Ouen and also opposition councillor at Saint-Ouen; finally the last candidate prefers to remain anonymous. If any of these have links with Bras or his cronies, then it is not clear at present.
OUT. Red Star were without several of their key players on Saturday. Missing, other than Bousseliou and Sahridj were Delaneuville and Wilfried, both of whom picked up knocks through activities non-connected with football. Also, Kor was suspended, and all that combined to make life difficult against one of the best attacks in the division. At least Kamel was there to encourage his team mates - he's feeling much better and is back to work again (although not back in football).
A couple of remarks overheard at the game - firstly the chap who asked his neighbour in which division Red Stars' first team were currently playing, as he couldn't find them in the newspapers... images his reaction when he was told that this WAS their first team. Another thank you to Red Stars' directors for another humiliation...when will it all end ?
Less amusing was a remark from the stands - a racist comment aimed at one of Red Stars' young coloured players... however not all Roye supporters share the same stupid views - a local couple shouted the idiot down.
Fifteen or so Red Star die-hards made the trip and contributed to an atendance of around four hundred. Despite the large crowd, the locals were rather muted and only started to celebrate when the match was virtually over.

REFEREE. Khalil Echchelh, aged 34 will referee the match Roye v Red Star, assisted by Patrice Wattier and Anthony Coui.
ALSO THIS WEEK-END. Red Star reserves play a DH game this weekend at Versailles. Kick off on the 27th is at 3-30pm CET, Stade Montbauron. In the under 18S category : Red Star - Paris Centre Formation.
TAKEOVER. It is now official - Red Star will emerge from the ashes of the old club to be reborn. These are early days yet, but the project has been received with much acclaim by Red Stars' hard-done by supporters. Details are still a little sketchy at the moment, but it appears that in terms of the directors of the club, none of the old ones will be allowed to have anything to do with the new set up. Which again is good news. Already the supporters are talking about setting up an association of supporters to help the new club. More details will follow - all exclusives on this site, which since the demise of the official site has efectively become the only news source for the club, and no doubt should have a part to play in the new set up. We hope !
Meanwhile, if any of our readers have any experience of supporters becoming involved in the running of a club, we would be delighted to hear your advice, opinions etc etc. Mail us at : john@allezredstar.com

SAVED !

Red Star

Yesterday a delegation of Red Star supporters, including representation for this site, had a meeting with the Mayor of Saint-Ouen, Jacqueline Dambreville and Karim Bouamrane the sports councillor. After much discussion, it has emerged that a new Red Star will emerge from the ashes of the old club, and that the new formation will be on the starting grid for the season 2003-2004. More details are yet to emerge of the new project, and as and when details become a little clearer this site will have the exclusives ! At last some good news for the hard-done by supporters. More to follow...

EMILE TAUPIN. Long time supporter of Red Star, M. Emile Taupin passed away this recently, aged 80, following a short illness. AllezRedStar.com sends its condoloncies to his family on behalf of all Red Star supporters.
NEWS ON THE RED STAR TAKEOVER. Briefly there aren't any. Michel Castejon wasn't at Beauvais, the last match he was spotted at was the trip to Auxerre. Elsewhere, it appears to be radio silence. People at the club don't appear to have much contact with the people running the club, and as for Monsieur Bras, he has virtually disappeared off the face of the earth. Contact between players and the management appears also to be limited to saying "Bonjour, bonsoir ..." A sad state of affairs indeed.
RESERVES SLUMP. Not for the first time this season we carry this headline, unfortunately. A 0-1 defeat against Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois, despite dominating for large periods of the game virtually condemns the reserves to the DSR. Note that in case of liquidation, the Ligue de Paris would only allow Red Star to start again at the same level of it's reserve team. More to follow.

APOLOGIES For the non-availability of the site last week, or rather the non-updated site... this was due to Lycos taking their servers out of service for a system update. We're back, and as good as ever...
Note that this morning, the official Red Star site was not available.. perhaps they haven't paid their subs and have been cut off ??? Whatever, this leaves www.allezredstar.com as the only real source of information and news of the club. The one which provides information that all the other Red Star sites copy !
KAMEL BOUSSELIOU. Following from his public appearance at the Aubervilliers game, Kamel Bousseliou made his return to Stade Bauer on Saturday evening. Kamel watched the first forty five minutes of the match along with the supporters - a true man of the people. We had a chat with him during the game and he filled us in with what has been happening.
Kamel is back on the road to recovery following the collision sustained at Ivry a couple of weeks ago. He siad that he was horrified to see his face after the collision. His wife had brought him our exclusive photos which we published on this site. Apparently, the shock was as if he had been involved in a car crash at 50km/h without wearing a seat belt. Kamel could have ended up as a "vegetable" following the incident.
Outside of football, he is employed by the national education, and hopes to be back to work after the Easter break. He still suffers from occasional flashes and headaches. There are still some examinations to be undergone, concerning his eye.
He joined Red Star as an assistant to coach Mustapha Ousfane but soon found himself with his gloves back on and betweeen the posts. A decision which very nearly cost him his life. Now his aim is to try and get his life back to normal, his career as a footballer is over. A career which started out at Blanc-Mesnil and ended up at Red Star, with a long spell as regular goalkeeper at Aubervilliers. Kamel until then had managed to avoid serious injury, apart from some knee and back troubles. In June he hopes to organise a testimonial match at Blanc-Mesnil.
He is still bitter about the whole injury incident, saying that whilst he does not bear a grudge against the other player involved in the collision, he is bitter about the attitude of the coaching staff at Ivry. He has taken the whole dossier to the ethics committee at the French Football Federation, with the aim of keeping football as a sport and of protecting players from incidents of this kind.
Samir Sahridj, also seriously injured two weeks later would also share the same opinion. This site too is of the opinion that a football pitch is not a battlefield. An exapmle of fair play is the gesture offered by Red Stars' defender Fodé Kébé, who on Saturday evening helped carry an injured Saint-Quentin player from the field.
