EX-RED STAR MEN ON THE MOVE. Following a stint in Scotland with Kilmarnock and China with Cosko Shanghai, Red Stars' former striker SAMUEL BOUTAL, who also played for Caen and Troyes is back in France. He will play in the National with Reims under ex-Calais coach Ladislas Lozano. Meanwhile, TAREK BOUABDELLAH has left Dijon to join Romorantin. PATRICK GUILLOUX, currently out of work, was the victim of an injury picked up whilst playing for a team of out-of-contract players. Finally, KHALILOU FADIGA will not make the big move from Auxerre to Inter Milan, as doctors at the Italian club have found serious cardiac problems with the ex-Red Star man, and indeed have found him to be inapt for professional football. A serious blow for the young man in question.

TOUGH START. Red Stars' first XI kicks off it's season with a tough away trip to Issy-les-Moulineaux in the southern Paris suburbs where on Sunday August 24th they will face Arménienne. The week after they have an even longer trip to the southern limit of the big city to play Evry. The first home match is not until the 7th of September with the visit of Paris FCs' reserves to Stade Bauer.
RECONSTRUCTION. The new management of Red Star FC 93 are currently in the process of rebuilding the administrative side of the club. A lot of work to do before the new season starts, given the late announcement of the courts' decision on the takeover saga.
TRAINING. In a weeks' time, the coaching staff and the players will be back at work at the stadium. (25th July).
A FELLAHI RE-JOINS RED STAR. Not the legendary Karim, but his kid brother Ryad Fellahi, who was a Red Star man up to 2002. After a short spell at Paris FC, Ryad, pictured in the center of the players below is also joined at the club by new signings Mounir Jalliti (Viry-Châtillon), Emile Ngako (Brétigny under 18s) and Serge Kiwo (from the Ivory Coast).

Former Red Star goalkeeper Vincent Yazmadjian was due to end his career in may at the end of last season, but he has decided to give it another go for one season. Perhaps the thought of playing against his former club changed his mind !

A close ftiend of his, Pierre sent us a mail to congratulate us on the site and to thank us for having a photo of Monsieur Simonyi displayed on the header band of AllezRedStar.com. It is a honour for us to be able to put his picture on our site.

PROBLEMS, PROBLEMS... Our impending site move from Multimania to Lycos hasn't gone as smoothly as we would have hoped. As you may have noticed, our hosts have decided to put a strip of adverts down the right hand side of the page, which is well within their rights. So, we have decided to move to a pay host, Lycos. However, various technical problems have plagued the site set up, none of which are down to us, and at the moment we have had no response whatsoever from Lycos, despite having forked our money out !! In the meantime, please bear with us, and the horrible publicity. At the end we will offer a super fantastic service for our super fantastic site.

RED STAR IN THE PRESS. The monthly free mag published by the town of Saint-Ouen for the month of July carries an article on Red Star, as well as featuring the club on the cover of the publication. In the article, this site, www.allezredstar.com gets a free plug !

AT THE ILE DES VANNES. Friday evening, just after 6pm CET, Luis Fernandez turned up at the Ile des Vannes even before the players who had been invited to a pre-season trials session. More than thirty players turned up, and played three periods of thirty minutes on the synthetic pitch. In the absence of Pascal Grosbois, Mustapha Ousfane and Djamel Badoud (last seasons' reserve team coach), under the watchful eye of Luis Fernandez, supervised the session. The players represented various levels of skill, such as ex-CFA 2 players Ryad Fellahi (ex-Red Star) and Fabrice Tayau (Aubervilliers) as well as other lower leagues.

OH FERNANDEZ ?. Some of the kids from the local estates were surprised by the presence of Luis Fernandez. "What's the Paris SG coach doing here ?"
TURNOUT. Nearly a hundred spectators witnessed the training session. Almost as good as Real Madrid with Beckham ! The general mood was good humour, and to continue the positive change of feelings at the club, new president Eric Charrier as well as several other club directors were present. A change indeed from recent seasons. Another interested spectator was Samuel Lobé, formerly with Créteil. Mr Charrier, recently confirmed by the FFF conference at Strasbourg, was watched closely by no less than two representatives of the written press.
