LATEST NEWS. Azzedine Meguellatti had to re-arrange his defence yet again for the visit of Brétigny. The last-minute injury to key defender Bilal Hammami (fractured toe) sustained during training, added to the long-term injury to Vincent Fourneuf and the suspension of Aboubacar Diomande meant an earlier-than-expected call-up for the excellent Nabile Yessad. The coachs' intuition paid off, as the revelation of last season turned in an exquisite performance, almost faultless. For the supporters, the question was why this talent was wasted whilst he took so long to reach a decision as to re-sign for Red Star. Welcome back, Nabile. GAEL HIROUX QUITS RED STAR. Contacted recently by Breton club Pontivy, (CFA), Gaël Hiroux has signed a contract and will leave for his new club today. Not before playing in yesterdays' game at Saint-Ouen. His parents contacted the site and wishing him good luck at his new club, thank Red Star for helping him get his career back on track. Hirouxs' deal with Red Star always left the door open for him to leave should a club more suited to his standing come in for him.
LUIS FERNANDEZ PRESENT. Top Man (1). As the Spanish Ligua had a rest day (Euro qualifiers), Luis Fernandez took advantage of the break to pop in at Bauer to check on the progress of his young protegés... proof that despite finding himself a new voaching position, he is still committed to Red Star. Top man, Luis. BACK IN THE PACK (2). Djamel Hamdane, aged 25 ans and a player (and last seasons' captain) with Red Star from 1993 until May 2003, is back with Red Star. |

YESTERDAY EVENING AT STADE BAUER. The "new" supporters club hels it's first real public meeting yesterday evening at Stade Bauer. For many of the forty or so present, it was also an opportunity for them to see parts of the interior of the stadium not normally accessible to the general public. Held in a meeting room on the ground floor of the Bauer Stand, there was a brief presentation of the supporters' project by President Olivier Hercy, followed by Red Stars' president Eric Charrier outlining his vision for the club. Afterwards there was an at times lengthy question and answer session before drinks and snacks were served. Some of the questions dragged on somewhat, in particular one (nameless) individual who monopolised proceedings a little. Apart from that, it can be said that the visions of Mr Charrier correspond with the views of the supporters. SUNDAY.
