MATCH OFF. Sundays' game at Stade Bauer has fallen victim to the weather. Instead, Red Star have a friendly match lined up at Poissy (CFA). Kick off is on Saturday 31st January at 1pm CET, on the all-weather pitch at the Rue du Stade in Poissy. Result to be posted on the mini-site. Next match at Bauer will be on the 22nd February when

RESERVES NEW COACH NAMED. FRANCESCO SCARATTI current coach of Red Stars' successful under-18s side has been "promoted" to the post of reserve team boss. The excellent win in the Gambardella obviously inspired Red Stars' management. He is replaced by Patrick Da Silva another one of Red Stars' youth team coaches. COUPE GAMBARDELLA CUP DRAW. Red Star have been given a hugely difficult task in the next round, but have the home advantage at least, against last years' beaten finalists Strasbourg. The match will take palce on Sunday 15th February.

GAMBARDELLA CUP WIN. Red Stars' youngsters, coached by Francesco Scaratti progressed through to the next round of the Gambardella Cup with a fine win over Wasquehal, from a level above Red Star. The decisive goal came from a thrity-yard lob by Chammat, who had also scored in the previous round. FRIENDLY WIN. Red Stars' first team had a run out in a friendly match on Saturday at Gonesse (PH). The game ended up 5-0 (2-0) to Red Star, with the goals coming from : 1) Desmarets, 2) Benmesmoudi, 3) Balde, 4) Balde, 5) Guei. A good start for coach Girard. Positive news was that full-back Franck Guei was pushed into a central strikers role with Azzedine Benmesmoudi just behind. Consequence - both players got their names onto the score sheet.
ELSEWHERE. Catching up on their backlog of games in hand, Arménienne thumped Orly 4-1. With this win, the club from Issy pass ahead of Red Star with a game in hand. Note that Meaux v Brétigny was postponed again. |

FERNANDEZ, MEGUELLATTI QUIT RED STAR. Red Stars' already troubled existince took yet another quirky turn with the shock announcement of the departures of Luis Fernandez and first-team coach Azzedine Meguellatti. The club released an official communiqué today to break the news. Allezredstar.com have worked in close collaboration with the outgoing coach in recent times, and would like to thank him wholeheartedly for his contributions to the site, as well as his friendliness which made a refreshing change to the secrecy and hostility received by the site in previous seasons.
COMMUNIQUE FROM RED STAR (Monday 12th January, 21 h 15 CET).
« After having participated in the takeover of RED STAR and having contributed to installing a new-found stability in sporting terms, Luis FERNANDEZ is no longer able to contribute actively in the management of SASP RED STAR 1897, taking into account his responsibilities in Spain. JEAN-LUC GIRARD NEW FIRST TEAM COACH. Yesterday evening, just after 7pm CET, Azzedine Meguellatti broke the news of his departure to the players gathered at the stadium for the first training session of the week. He also presented his successor, Jean-Luc Girard. No real stranger to those present, as Gigi has been working closely with Azzedine in recent times.

BACK TO WORK. Yesterday morning, Red Stars' players were back in training under the guidance of Azzedine Meguellatti. Daily training is the order of the day now until Sundays' cup tie in the Coupe de Paris. Missing were Bilal Hammami and Mounir Jalliti, absent due to work commitments.
DATE CHANGE. The Coupe de Paris match has been brought forwards to Sunday 11th January 2pm CET at Stade Bauer. This allows Red Stars' supporters to pop along to Marville the weekend after to support the youngsters in their important Coupe Gambardella tie at 2-20pm CET Sunday 18th January.
