DONE … . The former directors of Red Star (Claude Thuel & Michel Castejon) have been found guilty of illegally firing Christophe Fiatte. On January 12th the Prud’hommes decided on the sentence to be handed out. In May 2002, Jean-Luc Girard at the end of his contract, and Christophe Fiatte who still had time left to run on his contract were booted out by Red Star, after thirty years loyal service between them.
No indemnity, no letter of severance, no work certificate despite the validity of the contracts signed between employer & employee. Without the necessary papers, Christophe was even unable to sign on at the dole. A truly sorry state of affairs.
So Fiatte turned to the courts and after 18 months of battles, finally he has been awarded 40 000 euros for his pains. He also will receive the necessary paperwork to enable hil to claim benefits and to register to get a new job. Christophe had to quit Paris to return to his home in the Dijon region, and he has gone on to pass the necessary coaching badges. One day, who knows perhaps we will see both Girard and Fiatte back at Saint-Ouen !

FERNANDEZ, MEGUELLATTI QUIT RED STAR. Red Stars' already troubled existince took yet another quirky turn with the shock announcement of the departures of Luis Fernandez and first-team coach Azzedine Meguellatti. The club released an official communiqué today to break the news. Allezredstar.com have worked in close collaboration with the outgoing coach in recent times, and would like to thank him wholeheartedly for his contributions to the site, as well as his friendliness which made a refreshing change to the secrecy and hostility received by the site in previous seasons.

COMMUNIQUE FROM RED STAR (Monday 12th January, 21 h 15 CET).

« After having participated in the takeover of RED STAR and having contributed to installing a new-found stability in sporting terms, Luis FERNANDEZ is no longer able to contribute actively in the management of SASP RED STAR 1897, taking into account his responsibilities in Spain.
Consequently, he has decided to pass on to the managment team of Eric CHARRIER his share of the club so that the latter may take over efficient running of the club and attract new shareholders.
Obviously Luis FERNANDEZ will continue to closely follow the results and the development of the club along with the management team. Following his departure, Azzedine MEGUELLATTI has decided to end his involvement with the RED STAR project. Jean Luc GIRARD, who for the majority of his career has been involved with Red Star as a player then latterly as coach, and since the start of the season has been the technical coordinator of the youth teams, assumes responsibility as sporting manager as well as coaching the first XI. These changes continue the aim ofthe project : to be a leading club in youth development in the Ile de France region and promotion to the National in five years time. »

Azzedine Meguellatti

JEAN-LUC GIRARD NEW FIRST TEAM COACH. Yesterday evening, just after 7pm CET, Azzedine Meguellatti broke the news of his departure to the players gathered at the stadium for the first training session of the week. He also presented his successor, Jean-Luc Girard. No real stranger to those present, as Gigi has been working closely with Azzedine in recent times.

We wish him all the best in his career, and hope that he continues to follow the club and this site. Top man, Azzedine.
