RED STAR TEAM FOR TOMORROW. Coach Jean-Luc Girard has named a squad of fifteen for the visit of Saint-Leu Plessis Bouchard FC 95 tomorrow : Mikaël Germain - Philippe Cuervo, Youssouf Dao, Kaba Diomande, Vincent Fourneuf, Bilal Hammami, Nabile Yessad - Jérémy Budoc, Yoann Delaneuville, Reevis N’Simba, Yves Desmarets, Karim Fellahi - Alhaji Baldé, Franck Guei, Philippe Marques. SAINT-LEU. A few facts about Saturdays' visitors. Firstly, it should be mentioned that nearly five months have elapsed since Red Stars' last home win in the league at Stade Bauer. Four points for the win would be a much-needed boost to put a bit of daylight between Red Star and the clubs at the wrong end of the table. However, third placed Saint-Leu have a fantastic away record, six wins and one draw on their travels since the start of the championship and more importantly, no defeats. OTHER GAMES THIS WEEKEND |

VILLEMOMBLE. One fairly common piece of advice given to travelling fans is usually to look for the floodlights and you'll find the ground. Except at Rotherham, where you'll most likely end up in one of the scrapyards around Milmoor. Well, the advice worked well on Sunday - the pylons at Villemomble must be some of the biggest in local football. The directions given on the web were reasonably accurate, the ground easy to find and parking relatively easy. For a suburb of Seine-Saint-Denis, Villemomble came as something of a surprise - instead of the usual blocks of drab 60s concrete blocks, the ground is surrounded by pleasant streets of detached houses, some very nice indeed. At the other side of the ground there is a massive high-rise which overlooks the pitch, but quite well-maintained. A railway line in a cutting separates the ground from this edifice. The main stand is tidy - what they appear to have done is to have built on to the top of the dressing rooms block, putting some seating in front and under the overhang of the roof, thus giving the impression of a sizeable two-tier stand. Opposite there is a bank of open terracing which curls away round one corner before suddenly stopping. Only black spot on the setup is the presence of street light pylons around the perimeter of the running track. |
