SUSPENSION. Nabile Yessad will miss the home game on Sunday at Bauer against Orly following the red card he picked up last week against Evry. Alhaji Baldé and Bilal Hammami have both served their suspensions and are available to coach Jean-Luc Girard. For Orly the game is a must-win situation if they are to continue their push for a promotion play-off spot. Earlier in the season Red Star won 2-0 at Orly, but this time things are sure to be different.
RED STAR - COMMUNIST ?. Recently communist politician Alain Krivine (LCR) stated that Red Star were formed by the French Communist Party. False. A quick history lesson - our club was founded in 1897 by Jules Rimet and the name was apparently chosen by the English governess of Rimets' children. For the record, the Communist Party in France wasn't formed until 1920 ! We've sent a letter to the people concerned to get facts put straight. |

LAST FRIDAY. AllezRedStar.com has fallen victim to it's own success... last Friday the site shut down around 5pm CET - we had passed the 5 gigbaytes per month bandwidth allowed by our webhosts. The video clip we put on Tuesday didn't help. In addition the number of visits and visitors achieved record levels in March. Steps are being taken to ensure that this won't happen again ! Thanks to everyone for your support and please keep returning to this site ! CHANGE OF VENUE. Paris FC v Red Star, planned for May 9th will most likely be played at a neutral venue following PFCs' three-match ban on home games following incidents after the home game with Villemomble. As soon as we have details we will publish them here. COUPE DE PARIS. Red Star will know whom they face in the next round after Sundays' game between Bagneaux-Nemours and Le Chesnay. |

With Youssouf Dao and Kaba Diomande still out injured, Gigi will name his starting line-up later today. DH WEEK 22. Orly, in-form team of the moment are at home to Evry, whilst second placed Racing will want to forget last Sundays' defeat at Bauer by disposing of Paris FC at Colombes. Saint-Leu are at home to Paris SG. Leaders Villemomble have a tricky trip to Cosmo, Arménienne travel to Aubervilliers and at the bottom a vital clash between Brétigny and Meaux. Versailles v Red Star, February 1980, won 1-0 by Red Star. Gérard Laurent scores the winning goal. The spacious grandstand is still standing (see photo below)
RESERVES. Red Stars' reserves must win at Yerres in order to keep hopes of avoiding relegation alive. Coach Francesco Scaratti hopes to keep to his usual squad of players which have performed well in recent weeks, but with the first team struggling for three defenders, some changes made need to be made. AND FINALLY CYRIL...... it was an April Fool - Ronaldo wasn't at Stade Bauer yesterday... but we wonder how many folk did turn up in the hope of glimpsing the Brazilian star..

RONALDO AT SAINT-OUEN. But the well-known Brazilian footballer won't be signing for Red Star, unfortunately. He will be in Paris today in order to record an advertising campaign at the Sacré Cœur in Montmartre. His sponsors also wanted him to show off a bit of his fancy footwork at a football stadium, and, as the Sacré Cœur overlooks Stade Bauer, the choice of a stadium was relatively easy ! |
