TWO OUT OF THREE AIN'T BAD... On Wednesay Red Stars' youngsters at Under 13 and under 18 level progresed through to the finials of their respective Coupe de Paris age groups. On Thursday it was up to the first XI to mmake it a hat trick, but unfortunately they were robbed of a final spot by a plastic pitch, totally unsuitable for a match of this importance. Not only did Red Stars' Yoann Delaneuville and Kaba Diomande pull up with injuries during the game, even the referee ripped a muscle hand had to limp out of the action with fifteen minutes remaining ! Now wouldn't it be nice if the referee complained and the game had to be replayed on a real surface .... MONTROUGE v RED STAR PHOTOS.

LEAGUE SEASON OVER. The dust settles on the DH campaign 2003-2004, which has seen stability restored to Red Star FC 93. For the first time since May 2000, sporting-wise at least Red Star have avoided a relegation. All that remains now of this season is the Coupe de Paris, which the players have serious hopes of winning. Firstly they must overcome a potential banana skin on the plastic pitch at Montrouge on Thursday afternoon, kick-off 3pm CET at the Stade Jean Lezer. In their last championship match, Red Stars' future opponents were on the wrong end of a 4-1 drubbing at Antony. To get to the stadium, from central Paris (or indeed Saint-Ouen, take the line 13 get off at the southern terminus of Montrouge - Châtillon, take Avenue Jean Jaurès, then right into Rue Roger Salengro befopre arriving in Rue Maurice Arnoux. About five hundred metres of walking - good for the constitution ! DH RESULTS & SCORERS |

COACH NAMES HIS SQUAD. Jean-Luc Girardhas named the following players for the game on Sunday at Bauer against neighbours Aubervilliers: LET OFF. The Ligue de Paris waited virtually until the last match of the season before pronouncing on the appeals of Paris FC & Arménienne. The latter have seen their lost two points reinstated whereas PFC have lost two points meaning that they are relegated to the DSR. Initiallly closed for three matches, the suspension on their home stadium has been reduced to one - but the Parisiens have already played two matches "on the road" at Marville ! The third match will still go ahead on Sunday against Versailles at Marville, however. Arméniennes' Dickenson has had his ban reduced by one year. LAST HOME MATCH. The under 16s are at home (Marville) on Sunday against Nancy. Final match of the season is next week at Epinal. As a curtain-raiser, at 1pm CET the Under 14s play Rouen who are two points ahead of Red Star. The aim is to finish sixth, and potentially fifth should Quevilly slip up.

ITS GONNA BE CLOSE !. The season may be more or less over for Red Star, having sealed their place in the DH for next season, but for six other clubs Sunday is a big day. At the top, Villemomble and Racing are involved in a close fight for automatic promotion while at the other end, Brétigny, Paris SG, Versailles and Paris FC are all fighting to avoid the drop. Next season should get under way around Sunday August 22nd, and training starts the week of the 14th July. Some good news for Red Star is that goalkeeper Mikaël Germain is back in training this week, albeit gentle training. He hopes to be back before the end of the season, which will be mimimum two games remaining, three should Red Star win their Coupe de Paris semi-final. |
