FRUSTRATION
JEAN-LUC GIRARD. « We weren't technically very good at the start of the second half and we paid for it. Le Mée are a solid team, and took advantage of the situation whereas we started out well and had a couple of good chances. More work remains to be done and we have to get some good resulats on our travels. » HEADS DOWN. After the game Red Stars' players were subdued and left the stadium with heads lowered. There's a long way to go and a lot of work still to be done if finishing there or thereabouts is to be achieved. SATURDAYS' TRAINING SESSION.
NEW SIGNING ?.
PLAYERS NEWS. Grégori Sinobad is still awaiting clearance to play for Red Star, as is latest signing Jimmy Hamme. Both hope to be operative for next weekend. |

FIRST POINTS. Not a great performance, but hey, when have we played a good game against Meaux ? All that counts is the four points for the victory. Yoann Bell kept Red Star in the game in the first half with some excellent saves when Meaux looked dangerous, and Ahmed Hamdani put the icing on the cake with his fine headed goal six minutes from the end. Blight on the encounter was the red card received by Red Stars' Alhaji Baldé for two minor offences, which means that he will miss the home game next Sunday against Le Mée Sports. |

RED STAR 3 SANNOIS-SAINT-GRATIEN 1. Red Star won their latest friendly match yesterday evening and in doing so turned in an excellent performance full of hope for the future season. The sixty or so interested spectators were treated to a quality performance from a squad which is really starting to gel together to make at times a formidable outfit. The only blot on the copy was the consolation goal given away in the last few minutes, a lapse of concentration leading to a striker beating the offside trap and a tiring defence to put the ball past Yann Bell. LAST TEST. On Sunday at 3pm CET Red Star play their last friendly at Bauer against Les Lilas.
RED STAR … TRES INTERNATIONAL ! . Yesterday evening at Bauer, the friendly game was watched by a Red Star supporter from Germany. Benjamin Zich had made the trip across from his hometown of Berlin and managed this time to get to see a match at Bauer. On previous visits Red Star hadn't had a game. Pleased with what he had witnessed, our intrepid traveller should make it a double treat by taking in Sundays' game at bauer against Les Lilas. Benjamins' other club in Union Berlin, from the third division.

TONIGHT. This evening at 7-30pm CET at Stade Bauer, Red Star play their fourth pre-season friendly against Entente Sannois Saint-Gratien. This should be a good test for Jean-Luc Girards men, with Sannois just having been promoted to the DH, and they should field a mix of players from their first team who play in the National and the reserves. For tonights' game, Red Star should have goalkeeper Yann Bell back and with a bit of luck striker Ahmed Hamdani, injured against Nogent-sur-Oise. FROM THE PAGES OF HISTORY. One of our German friends has sent us these photos from a game played in 1928, between Hamburger SV and Red Star (8-1). Many thanks to him.

FRIENDLY WIN. Red Star recorded their first pre-season friendly win yesterday at Nogent-sur-Oise, running out victors by 4-1. Despite falling behind, Red Star drew level on twenty minutes through a Vince Fourneuf penalty. However in the penalty incident, Ahmed Hamdani injured his ankle and had to leave the field of play. Ten minutes later from a Ouattara corner, Baldé scored his second pres-season goal. After the break Gassama scored twice, the first a header from an Abdallah corner (55) and again five minutes from the end following another Abdallah corner. Jean-Luc Girard said that it was a difficult game given the high temperatures. Also his players had been working very hard over the last three weeks. Next training is scheduled for Tuesday before the next friendly at Bauer against Entente Sannois Saint-Gratien (National-DH). Kick off for that game is 7-30pm CET. |

ARMENIENNE 2 RED STAR 2
Yesterday evening on the synthetic pitch in Issy Red Star and hosts Arménienne played out an entertaining 2-2 draw. Red Star looked the better side in the first half and deservedly went 1-0 up through Alhaji Baldé before Ouattara doubled the lead in the second half. Red Star had made a series of line-up changes at the break, and Dao, Diomande, N’Simba, Abdallah, Baldé and Tandia were replaced by Hamdanis' brother, Budoc, Benmesmoudi, Ouattara, Gassama and an unnamed triallist. The home side pushed to get back into the game and scored tice in eight minutest to draw level. A pleasant game on a pleasant evening watched by around fifteen Red Star supporters, the majority of the crowd present ! ABSENT. Other than goalkeeper Bell, Jean-Luc Girard was without the services of A. Hamdani (back injury - worrying), Yessad and Hammami. JIMMY HAMME.
