COUPE GAMBARDELLA. Red Stars' under 18s have a tricky trip in the Coupe Gambardella. They will play on the plastic pitch at Montrouge, Sunday 31st October, kick-off 2-30pm CET. Red Star have bad memories of this synthetic atrocity - last year the first team went out of the Coupe de Paris at the semi-final stage to Montrouge. DHR. Reserves result : Villepinte - Red Star : 2-1 Goals : Diakité (40), Roux (44) - Debbah (12) JOHN PEEL 1939-2004
On a personal note, AllezRedStar.com mourn the passing of one of the biggest influences in my life, the Radio One DJ John Peel. As well as being a true music lover, John Peel was also a passionate football supporter. Music and soccer will miss the great man. For opening my eyes to real music, not just me but millions of others, thanks John and RIP. |

OFFICIAL PHOTO. Last Saturday morning, the players and officials turned out for a photo session at Bauer. Three players were missing on the photo, however, due to work commitments: Yann Bell, Ahmed Hamdani & Mustapha Gassama.
BAD DEFEAT. Last Sundays drop in form continued yesterday, Red Star never really got into the game against Orly. Jean-Luc Girard wasn't very pleased and expressed his discontent at the way some of his players performed. The impression he gave is that the recent press attention seems to have gone to the heads of one or two players. He went onto hope for a better month of November, starting with the Coupe de Paris tie in Franconville. SAMUEL LOBE. Orlys' coach had resigned from his position following a defeat in the sixth week of the championship, but his resignation was refused by the club president. So Samuel was there for his sides first win if the season. ELSEWHERE IN THE DH. Cosmo, Meaux and Saint-Leu continue in their quest for promotion, and are now six five and five points clear of Red Star respectively. Cosmo beat Saint-Maur (Lusitanos) 1-0; Meaux thumped Aubervilliers 4-0 and Saint-Leu won at Le Mée 1-0. Brétigny won their first league game of the season at Sannois - Saint-Gratien 1-0. Versailles put Evry into the relegation zone with a 2-0 win whilst Arménienne could only draw against Morangis 1-1. OFFICIAL PHOTO. The club had engaged English professional photographer Peter Winfield to take the clubs' official photos on Saturday. Armed with a medium format camera, Peter took his photos in and around the stadium.

RED STAR - ORLY. For the game on Sunday, Red Star will be wothout their combative midfielder Grégori Sinobad, out suspended. Yesterday afternoon in training, Red Star trained on the strip of grass in front of the flats at the far end of Bauer. The rain was so intense that any action on the pitch would have ruined the surface before Sundays' clash. Final training this evening, 7-30pm CET at Bauer.
LOYAL. Despite the penalty shoot-out going the wrong way last Sunday, Red Stars' players were still given a warm reception from their supporters as they left the pitch.
ALSO IN THE DH THIS WEEKEND. Top of the table clash at the Stade Adoplphe Chéron home of Lusitanos in Saint-Maur, where leaders Cosmo are the visitors. One point separates the teams. Saint-Leu have a trickty trip to Le Mée Sports. Sannois Saint-Gratien, also one point behind welcome struggling Brétigny; Meaux are at home to Aubervilliers, Arménienne play Morangis-Chilly and at the bottom Evry meet Versailles. WEEK-END GAMES |

ANORAK CORNER. In six championship matchs, Jean-Luc Girard has so far used eighteen players. Eight of which have participated in all six games, but only five of those have played the totality of the matches. Note that at the same point last season, Red Star had used no less than twenty four players. HISTORY IN THE MAKING. This afternoon, Red Stars' ladies XI will train for the first time ever, at the Stade Joliot-Curie, from 4-30pm CET onwards.

THANK YOU !.
DOWN AND OUT. No money-spinning cup run this year for the Red Star. Three attacks, three goals, a well-organised defence and a well-rehearsed penalty shoot-out routine put paid to this years Stade de France trail. Red Star were awesome at times, but failed to capitalised on their superiority. Worrying signs here - in difficult conditions Red Star struggled. No more nice bowling green pitches, we're into the heavy stuff now. Red Star have been warned. On Sunday Orly come to Bauer in need of points, they'll battle for at least a draw and will try their hardest to ruin Red Stars' footballing style. After the game AllezRedStar.com had a brief chat with Ahmed Hamdani in the corridors of Stade Bauer. The striker is back in training, and will have to battle hard to earn his place in the side, especially considering the form of tall striker Aboubacar Tandia, who scored again and had a bicycle kick goal ruled offside. Mustapha Gassama is also in the reckoning for a regular place and contributed Red Stars' third equaliser.
MINUTES SILENCE. A minute silence was observed and respected for the secretary of visitors Fleury-Mérogis, Daniel Rueda, who passed away the day before the game. |

HAPPY BIRTHDAY. To Red Stars' central defender and all-round nice guy VINCENT FOURNEUF, aged 22 today. LAST DEFENDER. From last weekends' game, Red Star goalie Yann Bell was called on to prevent a certain Morangis goal - our man was on hand to capture the moment in photos.
RED STAR v FLEURY-MEROGIS. Kick off is at 3pm CET on Sunday 17th October at Stade Bauer. Fleury-Mérogis are currently fourth in the DHR, two divisions below Red Star, but have a game in hand.

Wasquehal 12 pts, 8. Lens 11 pts, 8. Vermelles 11 pts, 10 Red Star 10 pts, 11. Lille 9 pts, 12 Racing 7 pts. |

CUP DRAW. Red Star didn't have long to wait to find out their next opponents in this years' Coupe de France. First out of the hat, and rewarded with a home tie against Fleury-Mérogis. Red Star are sure to be at home, as Fleurys' stadium was vandalized recently meaning that in the last round they had to switch the tie to the other teams' ground. The other team was none other than Red Stars' near-neighbours Aubervilliers, and in the end Auber lost out 1-0 to the club from the DHR, two divsions below. ACTION FROM SUNDAY.

SAVED !
JEAN-LUC GIRARD SAID. Coach Jean-Luc Girard was pleased with Red Stars' domination of the first period, rewarded with a goal for Tandia, but lamented the first 20-25 minutes of the second half. Disappointed to have conceded a second on a counter-attack, but delighted with the never-say-die attitude resulting in the late late equaliser. He was impressed with the power of Morangis' attackers, but urged Red Stars' supporters to aprpeciate the efforts of his team to salvage something from the game.
MEANWHILE.... Whilst all this was happening in Morangis, Allezredstar.com had spies out on Sunday at Taverny for the match Cosmo v Arménienne. When our man arrived at the ground, the home side were 1-0 up and the visitors reduced to ten men.
Despite numerical inferiority it was the side from Issy who were pressing forwards and procured several good chances, betrayed by poor finishing. Cosmo relied on the counter-attack and ex-Red Star man Mounir Jalliti prevented a certain second goal with a last-gasp tackle following a 40-yards trackback.
Arménienne were very poor (apart from Jalliti and centre-back Cédric Neveux) and look like relegation fodder. Cosmo are one-dimensional and unimaginative - can they keep this up all season ? |

SQUAD NAMED FOR TRIP TO MORANGIS TOUGH TASK AHEAD. The top of the table clash between Morangis-Chilly and Red Star is the star billing of this weeks DH programme. Elsewhere Aubervilliers v Le Mée Sports has been postponed due to Aubervilliers playing Fleury-Mérogis in the Coupe de France, the game having been switched to Aubervilliers following last weeks postponement of the game. PUTEAUX v RED STAR. Jean-Luc Girard expressed his pleasure with his sides' 3-0 cup win at Puteaux. He regretted a little that Red Star hadn't scored earlier in the game, as this let their opponents. But after the break, Red Star grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and immediately stamped their authority on the game. NICE ATTENDANCE. On a Spring-like day, over 300 turned out to watch the game, in the magnificent setting of an island in the River Seine. However the big name effect also attracted a section of locals not regular visitors to the stadium. They sunk as low as to resort to spitting on the Red Star supporters during and at the end of the game. Charming.
COUPE DE FRANCE. Elsewhere, DH leaders Cosmo eliminated Noisy-le-Sec (CFA) 1-0; Poissy (CFA) and their band of ex-Red Star men lost out to Villemomble (CFA 2) 0-1. Le Mée Sports lost 0-2 at Torcy.
