COUPE GAMBARDELLA. Red Stars' under 18s have a tricky trip in the Coupe Gambardella. They will play on the plastic pitch at Montrouge, Sunday 31st October, kick-off 2-30pm CET. Red Star have bad memories of this synthetic atrocity - last year the first team went out of the Coupe de Paris at the semi-final stage to Montrouge.
RED STAR MEN SELECTED. This evening the Ligue de Paris XI have a game against Paris FC (CFA), kick off 8pm CET at the Stade Déjerine, Porte de Montreuil. Three Audoniens have been selected : Fourneuf, Abdallah and Tandia. Opposite wil be four ex-Red Star men, Gomis, Carles, Nemouthié and Bokuma.

On a personal note, AllezRedStar.com mourn the passing of one of the biggest influences in my life, the Radio One DJ John Peel. As well as being a true music lover, John Peel was also a passionate football supporter. Music and soccer will miss the great man. For opening my eyes to real music, not just me but millions of others, thanks John and RIP.

BAD DEFEAT. Last Sundays drop in form continued yesterday, Red Star never really got into the game against Orly. Jean-Luc Girard wasn't very pleased and expressed his discontent at the way some of his players performed. The impression he gave is that the recent press attention seems to have gone to the heads of one or two players. He went onto hope for a better month of November, starting with the Coupe de Paris tie in Franconville.
RINGING THE CHANGES. The suspended Sinobad along with Benmesmoudi and Chamma were replaced by Hamdani, returning from an injury sustained at Evry, Hamme and Hammami.

Red Star - Orly
A rare threat from Red Star

SAMUEL LOBE. Orlys' coach had resigned from his position following a defeat in the sixth week of the championship, but his resignation was refused by the club president. So Samuel was there for his sides first win if the season.
SHIRTS GO ON SALE. Red Stars' new deckchair shirt has finally gone on sale, but for the moment only in size L. Mroe on this during the current week.
BRITS ABROAD. There was a small contingent of Red Star supporters from across the Channel this week at Sunday. Disappointed not only at the result, but also at the lack of size XL shirts on sale ! Like me, they'll have to wait a little longer...
If you were present at Bauer for the game, why not send us your view of the match (report, impressions...) and we'll publish it on the site...

Versailles put Evry into the relegation zone with a 2-0 win whilst Arménienne could only draw against Morangis 1-1.

COUPE DE PARIS. Red Star have a tricky trip to play a club from the DSR, Franconville. Kick off is on Sunday 31st October, 3pm CET at the Stade Jean Rolland in Franconville (95). Take the RER line C to Franconville, cross the subway to the other side of the station, turn left & follow a long straight road alongside the railway tracks until you see the graound on your right, approx 1 km.
PHILIPPE MARQUES. Philippe Marques was back in action with the reserves this weekend, but could not prevent them from going down 2-1 at Villepinte.

RED STAR - ORLY. For the game on Sunday, Red Star will be wothout their combative midfielder Grégori Sinobad, out suspended. Yesterday afternoon in training, Red Star trained on the strip of grass in front of the flats at the far end of Bauer. The rain was so intense that any action on the pitch would have ruined the surface before Sundays' clash. Final training this evening, 7-30pm CET at Bauer.

THANK YOU !.

Coupe de France
Despite the result, fans and players alike show mutual respect

DOWN AND OUT. No money-spinning cup run this year for the Red Star. Three attacks, three goals, a well-organised defence and a well-rehearsed penalty shoot-out routine put paid to this years Stade de France trail. Red Star were awesome at times, but failed to capitalised on their superiority. Worrying signs here - in difficult conditions Red Star struggled. No more nice bowling green pitches, we're into the heavy stuff now. Red Star have been warned. On Sunday Orly come to Bauer in need of points, they'll battle for at least a draw and will try their hardest to ruin Red Stars' footballing style.
Coach JEAN-LUC GIRARD was disappointed at the result, but praised his youngster for having come back into the game three times.
Training has been reduced to three times per week during the period of Ramadan, the physical demands of training plus a match next Sunday against physical opponents after two hours last weekend on a heavy pitch will play an important role in Red Stars' immediate future. All of the players apart from one or two appear to respect the fast of Ramadan, and this meant that not much water was taken on board during Sundays' game.
Slightly worrying is Red Stars' defence - after a five match run without leaking a goal, Red Star now have let in five in two games. A point to improve on. Bilal Hammami was absent Sunday, but on the other hand Big Franck Gueï was making his comeback - he was substituted just before the end of normal time after a typically powerful performance in awful conditions.

Coupe de France
Franck Gueï

After the game AllezRedStar.com had a brief chat with Ahmed Hamdani in the corridors of Stade Bauer. The striker is back in training, and will have to battle hard to earn his place in the side, especially considering the form of tall striker Aboubacar Tandia, who scored again and had a bicycle kick goal ruled offside. Mustapha Gassama is also in the reckoning for a regular place and contributed Red Stars' third equaliser.

Coupe de France
Crap conditions at Bauer on Sunday for Kaba Diomande and Taïeb Abdallah

MINUTES SILENCE. A minute silence was observed and respected for the secretary of visitors Fleury-Mérogis, Daniel Rueda, who passed away the day before the game.
INJURED. Red Star were without the injured Jimmy Hamme once again.
ELSEWHERE. Saint-Leu got their revenge for losing 3-0 at the hands of Cosmo in the championship by beating the local rivals 1-0 in the cup. Saint-Leu, Morangis, Meaux, Lusitanos and Evry are the last survivors from the DH.
GAMBARDELLA. Red Star power on in the Gambardella with a crushing 5-1 win against Vitry.
UNDER 14s. Against Lille, Red Stars' under 14s drea 2-2 at Marville. Goals by Manu Beaufort (3) & Moussa Bangoura (25)
UNDER 13s DH. Red Stars' under 13s played out a goal-less draw at Saint-Leu.

AND FINALLY... Red card to the kids in the block of flats in behind the goals at Stade Bauer for lobbing stuff onto the pitch from their windows during the game on Sunday. They nearly hit a ball boy with a cd case. The police were called and no more objects were thrown.

CUP DRAW. Red Star didn't have long to wait to find out their next opponents in this years' Coupe de France. First out of the hat, and rewarded with a home tie against Fleury-Mérogis. Red Star are sure to be at home, as Fleurys' stadium was vandalized recently meaning that in the last round they had to switch the tie to the other teams' ground. The other team was none other than Red Stars' near-neighbours Aubervilliers, and in the end Auber lost out 1-0 to the club from the DHR, two divsions below.
Although in the same pool as National clubs Racing and Sannois, Red Star avoided them and other Parisian clubs including Paris FC, Moissy-Cramayel, Les Lilas, Villemomble, Evry-Essonne, Cosmo, Lusitanos, Porcheville, Le Chesnay, Neauphle-Pontchartrain, Bagneaux-Nemours, Champigny, Drancy, Pontault-Combault, VGA Saint-Maur, Ville d’Evry, Melun, L’Hay-les-Roses, FC Gobelins and Villeparisis. They also managed to avoid Franconville (boo !)
Several local derbys add a touch of spice to the competition : Cosmo at home to Saint-Leu, Franconville v Sannois, La Garenne-Colombes v Racing, Ville d’Evry v Viry Châtillon.
From tthe "9-3", Villemomble travel to Vincennes, Drancy to Plessis Robinson and Les Lilas to Persan. The "minnows" of the cup are Houilles AC from Division One of the District des Yvelines.

RED STAR IN THE NEWS. Farid Zouaoui recently published an article on the Red Star in the pages of Le Parisien
Briefly, the subject was the re-birth of the club, after the Bras years and the "transit" period under Fernandez before the new "Davoine" era. The article praised the style of play advocated by Jean-Luc Girard, in particular the contributions of Vince Fourneuf and "the elegant Abdallah" (agreed !!).
The article cited Christian Duraincie as one of the architects of the re-birth (a decent bloke, let it be said !), and noted that the budget of the club had progressed from 270 000 € to 350 000 €, including a contribution of 72 000 € fromthe Town Hall, the county council 120 000 € and from sponsors (between 5 000 € & 100 000 €). From the local council Karim Bouamrane declared that it is indeed a workable project.
Plans include promotion to the CFA 2, youth academy, creation of ladies and handicapped persons teams, jobs found for players such as Benmesmoudi and Hamdani as well as two jobs at the club itself. Mr Davoine is still on the lookout for a shirt sponsor as well as further investors (Mr Paul Gascoigne, are you reading this...?)

SAVED !

Morangis - Red Star
Taïeb Abdallah mobbed by his team-mates after his last-gasp equaliser at Morangis

JEAN-LUC GIRARD SAID. Coach Jean-Luc Girard was pleased with Red Stars' domination of the first period, rewarded with a goal for Tandia, but lamented the first 20-25 minutes of the second half. Disappointed to have conceded a second on a counter-attack, but delighted with the never-say-die attitude resulting in the late late equaliser. He was impressed with the power of Morangis' attackers, but urged Red Stars' supporters to aprpeciate the efforts of his team to salvage something from the game.

Morangis - Red Star
Aboubacar Tandia, praised by his coach

MEANWHILE.... Whilst all this was happening in Morangis, Allezredstar.com had spies out on Sunday at Taverny for the match Cosmo v Arménienne. When our man arrived at the ground, the home side were 1-0 up and the visitors reduced to ten men. Despite numerical inferiority it was the side from Issy who were pressing forwards and procured several good chances, betrayed by poor finishing. Cosmo relied on the counter-attack and ex-Red Star man Mounir Jalliti prevented a certain second goal with a last-gasp tackle following a 40-yards trackback. Arménienne were very poor (apart from Jalliti and centre-back Cédric Neveux) and look like relegation fodder. Cosmo are one-dimensional and unimaginative - can they keep this up all season ?
OTHER SCORES IN THE DH. Sannois beat Versailles 2-1; Lusitanos beat Brétigny 1-0; Saint-Leu beat Evry 2-1 on Saturday evening; Meaux beat Orly 1-0 whiwh resulted in the resignation of their coach, former Lille striker Samuel Lobé.
TABEL. 1. Cosmo 18 pts, 2. Meaux 17 pts, 3. Sannois 17 pts, 4. Lusitanos 17 pts, 5. Saint-Leu 17 pts, 6. Morangis-Chilly 16 pts, 7. Red Star 15 pts, 8. Le Mée 12 pts, 9. Aubervilliers 12 pts, 10. Evry 11 pts, 11. Versailles 10 pts, 12. Brétigny 9 pts, 13. Arménienne 9 pts, 14. Orly 8 pts
COUPE DE FRANCE. Next Sunday it's the Coupe de France - Red Star will know thier opponents in tonights' draw. Yesterday in a match postponed from last weekend, DH club Aubervilliers lost at home against Fleury-Mérogis 0-1. Elsewhere, Villepinte lost to Villeparisis 0-1.
UNDER 14s. Red Stars' under 14s had to settle for a draw at Lambersart 2-2 despite being 2-0 up on the half hour.

SQUAD NAMED FOR TRIP TO MORANGIS
Jean-Luc Girard has listed a squad of fifteen players for the game on Sunday, the only doubtful being captain Reevis N'Simba, injured at Puteaux last Saturday.
The squad : Bell - Budoc, Diomande, Fourneuf, Gueï, Hammami, Yessad - Abdallah Benmesmoudi, Hamme, N’Simba, Sinobad - Baldé, Gassama, Tandia.
Injured : Cuervo, Dao, Hamdani

TOUGH TASK AHEAD. The top of the table clash between Morangis-Chilly and Red Star is the star billing of this weeks DH programme. Elsewhere Aubervilliers v Le Mée Sports has been postponed due to Aubervilliers playing Fleury-Mérogis in the Coupe de France, the game having been switched to Aubervilliers following last weeks postponement of the game. Only hours before the kick off the stadium at Fleury-Mérogis received the attentions of the local vandals and was unfit for use.

MAIL. Colin in York, UK, writes: Just a quick note to say how much I enjoy the site -- it's very near the top of my favourites bar. I particularly enjoyed printing off the programme for the game against Armenienne, I felt I'd almost been there at the match !!
Seems like things have finally turned for the better at Bauer, hope the boys can keep the good run going.
ALLEZ RED STAR.

Thanks, Colin for your comments, most appreciated ! We aim to keep a comprehensive site going, with innovation and new material every day. Coming soon we hope to have a page produced entirely by Red Stars' coach, Jean-Luc Girard, where visitors can ask him questions etc.. AllezRedStar !

STAND DEMOLISHED. A decision has been made to demolish the grandstand at Red Star. No, Stade Bauer is not threatened, the Red Star in question play in Alsace, in the town of Richwiller. The stand in question had become somewhat tired, the facilities below outdated, so the local town council took the decision to remove the building.

Updated 4th October

PUTEAUX v RED STAR. Jean-Luc Girard expressed his pleasure with his sides' 3-0 cup win at Puteaux. He regretted a little that Red Star hadn't scored earlier in the game, as this let their opponents. But after the break, Red Star grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and immediately stamped their authority on the game.
Meanwhile, the excellent Aboubacar Tandia continues his goalscoring run - four in three games, impressive for a 20-years old who has never played at this level before.
Bad news for Jimmy Hamme, however. After coming on as a second half substitute, Jimmy proveded the cross for Red Stars' first goal (Tandia), but had to limp off minutes later to be replaced by Gassama. Also injured was captain Reevis N'Simba. A happy return to Puteaux for Vince Fourneuf, his one-time home town.

NICE ATTENDANCE. On a Spring-like day, over 300 turned out to watch the game, in the magnificent setting of an island in the River Seine. However the big name effect also attracted a section of locals not regular visitors to the stadium. They sunk as low as to resort to spitting on the Red Star supporters during and at the end of the game. Charming.

COUPE DE FRANCE. Elsewhere, DH leaders Cosmo eliminated Noisy-le-Sec (CFA) 1-0; Poissy (CFA) and their band of ex-Red Star men lost out to Villemomble (CFA 2) 0-1. Le Mée Sports lost 0-2 at Torcy. Nanteuil-les-Meaux beat Levallois (CFA 2) 1-0. Red Stars' next opponents Morangis-Chilly laboured to beat Vitry 5-4
LADIES. Red Star FC 93 ladies team will shortly see the light of day. More information to follow.
OTHER RED STAR RESULTS. Another drubbing for the under-14s, 0-4 against Chantilly. The under 18s managed better, a 1-1 draw with Paris FC.
