Updated 25th February 2005

LE MEE IN DOUBT The snow continues to fall on Paris, and as a result there are doubts as to whether or not the match at Le Mée on Sunday will go ahead. AllezRedStar.com will be the first to bring you the news if there are any developments. If the match takes place, it will be officiated by Yann Billaux assisted by Luc Chevereau & Eric Wey
Meanwhile, three DH fixtures have already fallen victim to the climatic conditions:
- Evry v Arménienne

Elsewhere, Lusitanos (11th) will be hoping to build on last weeks' win over Red Star at home to tenth placed Orly; Cosmo (4th) are at home to Meaux (2nd) whilst leaders Saint-Leu have a trip to Versailles (9th).

AUBERVILLIERS - MEAUX … more. Following the pre-match car-park brawl between players from Aubervilliers and Meaux, one of the Meaux players has just left the Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital in Paris. He still needs to have a plate put into his head, so sever was the attack. He probably will need to keep the plate in place for a very long time. David Morele, aged 25, will be called upon to give evidence in the enquiry into the attack.

STATEMENT FROM RED STAR FC 93. After the shambles last Sunday at Lusitanos, Red Star fans were quick to pass their comments on the AllezRedStar.com forum. Many criticised the team and some pointed the finger at the clubs' directors, asking if they really wanted to gain promotion to the CFA 2. On the forum, the clubs' directors took the opportunity to respond to these reactions.
Briefly, the statement said that when the current directors took over the club in June 2003, they invested heavily personally in the future of the club, with the aim of restoring Red Star to the National, as soon as possible. However, the first team, which plays in the DH, is still only an amateur outfit, and is currently in a phase of reconstruction. These players are amateur, and have no contract as such binding them to the club. Results so far this season show that progress has been made, but despite that the overall situation is not quite as good as expected. They are fully aware that Red Stars' place is not to vegetate in the DH.
But the road to recovery is long and full of obstacles, as the result at Lusitanos shows. There are still ten matches left, forty points to play for, and now isn't the time to lower arms. They have confidence in coach Jean Luc Girard and his players, and are convinced that they are the right men for Red Star.

LUSITANOS SHAMBLES.

Lusitanos - Red Star
Without several key saves from Yann Bell, the scoreline light have been worse

From all accounts Lusitanos fully merited their victory yesterday, outplaying Red Star in all departments. Although there are still several games remaining, this defeat means that Red Star probably need a miracle to have any chance of promotion from the DH.
Jean Luc Girard wasn't best pleased with the afternoons' work, blaming the players.

We might as well have stayed put in the dressing rooms !

JEAN-LUC GIRARD Red Stars' coach was pleased with the performance, having the chance to evaluate some of his squad members in a competitive game for the first time. He also said the door to the first team isn't closed to his sqaud members, everyone having a good chance to break into the first XI.

Updated 16th February 2005

GIRARD RINGS THE CHANGES. Red Stars' coach Jean-Luc Girard has rested most of his regular first-team for tonight's Coupe de Paris tie at Stade Bauer against Drancy. Despite the changes, Red Star still have some experienced players in the side, including regular defenders Nabile Yessad, Youssouf Dao, Alhaji Baldé as well as regular subs bench-warmer Jérémy Budoc. Also in the squad are great prospects Aklouche, Béhiche and Chamma; cup specialist striker Philippe Marques as well as the vastly experienced Ahmed Hamdani. New faces to the sqaud are goalie Salifou Essomba Mama who injured himself prior to the start of the season, Ba, Ararouche, Loïc Ghili who made a subs appearance earlier this season and Tounkara, who also featured on a team sheet last season.

FREE ENTRY. Admission for tonights' game is free, so if you're in the area, why not pop along for the game ? Wrap up well, though, it promises to be bloody cold !

OFFICIALS. Tonights' match officials are Dominique Godefroy assisted by Benoît Danno and Pascale Godefroy. Pity that the first assistant referee wasn't the man in the center... then it might be possible to use the old Hawaii 5-0 line.... "Book him, Danno"
RECORD. Once again AllezRedStar.com shatters all records... on Sunday we beat the record number of pages visited in one day, with 6724 hits. Thanks to all who visited us !

Updated 15th February 2005

SQUAD NAMED Jean-Luc Girard has named his squad for tomorrows' Coupe de Paris tie against Drancy, at Stade Bauer (8pm CET). Several first-team regulars are rested, giving the opportunity to shine to several young hopefuls:
Mama, Ba, Ararouche, Yessad, Dao, Béhiche, Budoc, Tounkara, Chamma, Baldé, Aklouche, Hamdani, Marques, Ghili.
In their last match Drancy comprehensively beat Montereau 4-1 in the DHR, so Red Star have been warned.

Orly - Red Star
On his knees Aboubacar Tandia relives his tenth league goal with his team mates.

INCIDENT. Sundays' tie at Aubervilliers against Meaux was postponed, but not due to pitch conditions, as was initially thought. In fact before the game there was a bit of a punch-up between the two teams, in the stadium car park. Result - four injured including one Meaux player seriously. Not the end of the story, as the sanction risks to be heavy. Last season Meaux were involved in another incident with match officials, and only last weekend Cosmo and Arménienne were involved in some unpleasant scenes.
DH ROUND-UP.
VERSAILLES - EVRY : 4-1 (2-0). Goals : Bénichou (17), Sabourin (29 pen.), Mesloub (55), Sadoun (88) - Bensaïdi (69)
MORANGIS-CHILLY - ARMENIENNE : 2-0 (0-0). Goals : Bachiri (87), Dia (89)
BRETIGNY - SANNOIS SAINT-GRATIEN : 1-2 (1-0). Goals : Colombel (12) - Mavua (53), Imakhoukhène (71 pen.)
COSMO - LUSITANOS : 3-1 (0-1). Goals : Da Veiga (55, 64), Oucif (90 + 2) - Da Costa (8)
SAINT-LEU - LE MEE SPORTS : 2-1 (0-0). Goals : Diallo (46), Luissint (64 pen.) - Ebara (72)
GOALSCORERS. Another goal for Aboubacar Tandia means that he now has ten along with Daoud (Le Mée Sports) and Shatrit (Saint-Leu). Ten goals in eleven legue matches, three in the Coupe de France in two games and one in a Coupe de Paris games means a return of fourteen goals in fourteen games. Wonder if Mr Abramovich is taking notice ?
Red Star now have the fourth best attack with 23 goals.

Orly - Red Star
Taïeb Abdallah - on, the right in red, ex-Red Star captain Djamel Hamdane

JEAN-LUC GIRARD. Red Stars' coach was pleased with a deserved win, in difficult conditions. He went on to praise his full squad, including the ones left out or plying their trade in the reserves.
CRAP CONDITIONS. Weather conditions were basically awful, as sleet battered the little gound. At one point their were serious doubts as to whether or not the game might finish.
OLD BOYS. Guillaume Foulon and Djamel Hamdame, two former Red Star players featured on the team sheet for Orly.
EARLY BATH. For Red Stars' Ouattara following two yellow cards.
INJURY NEWS. Azzedine Benmesmoudi was forced to leave the pitch on a stretcher in the 48th minute. Latest news is that the injury appears to be less serious than was thought. Vincent Fourneuf failed to emerge for the second half and his place was taken by Nabile Yessad. Reevis N’Simba received a knock on the foot.

COUPE DE PARIS. Red Star have a potential banana skin draw for the next round of the Coupe de Paris. They have been drawn to play Jeanne D’Arc Drancy (DHR) on Sunday 20th February at Saint-Ouen. Drancy are well-placed in their group of the DHR, and are unbeaten so far this season. LUSITANOS - BRETIGNY : postponed until February 20th
JEAN-LUC GIRARD :. « We've quite often turned in performances of this quality. All that has eluded us is a bit of success. I didn't expect to win 4-0 against Morangis, especially seeing how the Essonniens had virtually scored in every game they have played in - apart from a 0-0 draw against Lusitanos.
To keep a clean sheet is a plus. We had lots of good chances against a side that didn't shut the game down but really only created two or three clear cut chances.
We created a dozen good chances to score. Besides our efficiency in front of goal, I noted the spirit in the side, for example the goal scored by Bilal Hammami, who at the end of the game pressed their goalkeeper into making a mistake.
Lots of energy, an will to win. This squad, as I said at the beginning of the season has the possibility to achieve something.
Before the match I urged the players to face up to their responsibilities, they did so and now it is up to themto continue along this path to achieve their objectives.»

NOT A BAD DAYS WORK. Seeing as how results went more or less Red Stars' way this weekend. Meaux struggled at home to Orly 1-1 as did Le Mée Sports against Aubervilliers 1-1. Saint-Leu went down to the shock of the day at normally low-scoring Evry who had a field day in putting 5 past the front-runners: final score 5-2 … in scoring five in one game, they had previously scored seven in fourteen outings ! Elsewhere : Sannois-Saint-Gratien - Versailles 2-0 & Arménienne - Cosmo 2-2. Cosmo equalised in the dying seconds at Arménienne which sparked a mini-riot and a pitch invasion. Fisticuffs, threats and unplesantries the order of the day - someone is going to be in trouble for this one.... Red Star still have to play there, let's hope that our game is unaffected by any "behind closed doors" games.
DH TABLE. 1. Meaux 43 pts, 2. Le Mée Sports 42 pts, 3. Saint-Leu 41 pts, 4. Cosmo 39 pts, 5. Morangis-Chilly 38 pts, 6. Red Star 35 pts (1 game in hand), 7. Sannois Saint-Gratien 35 pts (1 game in hand), 8. Aubervilliers 33 pts (1 game in hand), 9. Orly 31 pts, 10. Versailles 30 pts (1 game in hand), 11. Evry 29 pts, 12. Arménienne 27 pts, 13. Lusitanos (2 games in hand), 14. Brétigny (2 games in hand).
BACK IN THE FOLD. Bourama Ouattara was back in the starting line-up and did his best to prove our comments of the game Red Star v Le Mée earlier this season completely wrong... apart from one or two wayward crosses "Boubou" had a storming game and gave the poor Morangis full-back a torrid time. Bravo Boubou !

Red Star - Morangis-Chilly

ALL GREEN. Red Star played in the all-green strip at the request of the referee, taking into account the all-white strip worn by the visitors.
SHARPSHOOTERS. In the battle of the goalscorers, two goals scored by Red Stars' Aboubacar Tandia and none for Amadou Diawara (Morangis-Chilly), means that the two now have nine goals each.
BALLBOYS. The ballboys at the game were provided by the "benjamins" of Red Star. They enjoyed a great performance, a great result and contributed to the flow of the game.
WINS WINS WINS Red Stars' teams experinced some good results over the weekend. The reserves won in the DHR thanks to a Chamma goal. Final score 1-0 against Levallois. The under 18s (DH) beat Noisy-le-Sec 3-0. In the under 15s, Red Star had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Saint-Ouen l’Aumône 2-2. The under 14s could only manage a 1-1 draw at Chantilly. They were handicapped however by the expulsion of Christophe Bamanisa for two yellow cards. Red Stars' goal was the work of Bangoura Moussa (29th minute)
RED STAR : DUPONT Thomas, TOURE Samba, PHILIPPE Yoan, GELAIR Roxan, BEAUFORT Manu, MASSAMBA Rodrigue, KOFFI Jean-Baptiste, BAMANISA Christopher, BIYENDOLO Warren, SALIBUR Yanis, BANGOURA Moussa, PEROT Quentin, MOUHDINI Hassan, MEILHEUC Angy.

WEEKEND PREVIEW. One of the final throws of the dice for Red Star this weekend - if any hopes of promotion are to be kept alive, then they must beat Morangis Chilly. Earmier on this season Red Star earned a lst-minute draw thanks to a goal from Taïeb Abdallah, in a yo-yo match after earlier going 1-0 up only to fall 2-1 behind. This weekend, leaders Meaux are at home to Orly. Behind them Le Mée Sports are at home to Aubervilliers whilst Saint-Leu cross the city to Evry. Elsewhere : Arménienne v Cosmo, Sannois Saint-Gratien v Versailles. Lusitanos v Brétigny has been postponed until February 20th as their home ground is in use this wekend for another match.
