DIVISION HONNEUR. Here are the run-ins for the top seven teams in the DH, all battling it out for automatic promotion or a place in the play-offs. On paper, leaders Morangis-Chilly look to have the easiest run-in with three matches at home, but home advantage counts for nothing very often at this level. OFFICIALS. Red Star v Versailles will be officiated by William Royer assisted by Serge Charton & Nourdine Guedmi. |

MAN OF THE MOMENT
JEAN-LUC GIRARD. Red Stars' orders were to be the bosses on the pitch, and not to allow themselves to be dominated. Red Star had to play it tough against tough opponents, and today it worked. They adapted well on a narrow pitch and with the onset of the fine weather, these conditions are favourable to Red Stars' playing style. ON THE BOX. VO TV, the local television channel will broadcast a report on the game in their sports bulletin, 7-30pm CET available on Astra and Hot Bird satellites for free. More details at : http://www.votv.info/
If not, then on their site later on in the week, the report will be available.

SAINT-LEU ON THE HORIZON. Perhaps the biggest match of the day this weekend will be at the Stade Municpal in Saint-Leu, where the locals take on Red Star in a crucuial promotion encounter. Two contrasting styles of play - Red Star who are committed to the beautiful game, open attractive attacking football and the more cautious style played by the men of coach Jean-Marc Sabbatini. Remember back at Stade Bauer - four attackes, three goals for Saint-Leu.
DH FIXTURES. Also in the Val d’Oise, there is another derby game, between Cosmo (6th) and Sannois Saint-Gratien (7th). Co-leaders Le Mée Sports travel to struggling Brétigny (14th). Third place Morangis-Chilly, with the best attack travel to Orly (10th). Meaux (4th) travel to Versailles (9th). Not forgetting Lusitanos (11th) at home to Evry (12th). LAST SESSION. Final training session for the first team will be 11am CET at Stade Bauer, Saturday morning. MESSAGE. Our friends from Dulwich Hamlet Supporters have posted a thank-you message on their website following Sundays' encounter : http://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/forum.jsp?id=517&article=2996

TRAINING. Red Star trained yesterday evening in preparation for the crucual match on Sunday in the Val d'Oise against Saint-Leu. Red Star will be looking for their revenge as earlier this season Saint-Leu won 3-0 at Bauer, not a bad return at all, considering that thay only mustered four or five attackes throughout the game ! |

CONTRAST IN FORTUNES
ALLEZREDSTAR.COM GETS THEM IN. Sunday, after the game, this site provided drinks & nibbles for the fans and players alike. A memorable afternoon, animated in no small part by English & French supporters alike. Big thanks to the Gang green, to Tarek and to our English guests for the beer and champagne which went down a treat !! THANKS TO. Allezredstar.com would like to thank Saint-Ouen municipality for the sports facilities, the pitch at the Stade Joliot-Curie, the reception room at Bauer as well as all the people employed at Joliot-Curie and Bauer whom made a huge contribution to the days' events. Not forgetting also the management at Red Star. Hopefully this won't be the end of the story, as we hope to organise a gala match at the end of the season for all the club, the supporters, and next year a trip to England to try and win the return game ! |

PHOTO FROM SUNDAYS' GAME.
JEAN-LUC GIRARD. Basically, Red Stars' coach said it was a game of two halves, and preferred to forget the first period. He was enthusiastic about the second half, praised Yann Bell for the penalty stop as well as Red Stars' supporters. He especially praised our English visitors and was sure that they would have enjoyed the second half spectacle. RETURN. Nice to see Jimmy Hamme back in action after a long lay-off through unjury. He came on as a second half sub against Aubervilliers. BRAVO. Red Stars' under 14s won 1-0 at Lille: TOUS ENSEMBLE. The official match photo
AND AFTERWARDS.... Several kilos of chicken, pasta and biscuits - all for a hungry mob !
AND A RIGHT GOOD READ. Dulwich and Red Stars' fans peruse the match day programme provided (free) by AllezRedStar.com. Very few clubs at this level do a match programme, and even rarer, (although it was a one-off), Red Star are probably the only club in France to provide a bilingual one !

SQUAD NAMED. Jean-Luc Girard has named his squad for Sundays' game against Aubervilliers : BUILD-UP. The build-up begins to the big big match this weekend. Okay, both of them (see later on). Firstly, the afternoons' local derby between Red Star and Aubervilliers. Red Star will be hoping to do better than earlier in the season when they lost 3-1 away, despite going one-nil up through an early Aboubacar Tandia goal.
ALSO THIS WEEKEND . The Essonne deby between Evry and Brétigny has already been postponed. At the top second placed Meaux welcome Saint-Leu; Morangis-Chilly (5th) take on Cosmo (4th). Le Mée Sports (3rd) could go top if they beat Versailles (9th). Elsewhere: Sannois Saint-Gratien (7th) v Lusitanos (11th), Arménienne (13th) v Orly (10th). SUNDAYS OTHER BIG GAME …. DOn't forget that on Sunday morning Red Stars' supporters take on their counterparts from Dulwich Hamlet FC from London, UK. The match kicks off at 10am CET on the synthetic surface at the Stade Joliot Curie, Saint-Ouen (behind Stade Bauer). Afterwards there will be a buffet at the Red Star supporters' club under the Bauer stand. Photos & report will appear Monday morning !

SNOW 2 RED STAR 0. Red Stars' match at Bauer on Sunday against Evry has been postponed. Despite a slight improvement in temperatures overnight, the snow has returned with a vengeance this morning. Also postponed was last night's Paris Representative XI match at Issy. The season now risks to drag on well into May. If Red Star do manage to reach the play-offs, then the season might well finish in June, just one month before the preparations start for the next season !
… NO TRAINING EITHER. Jean-Luc Girard also was forced to cancel last nights' training session at Bauer. |

COLD COLD COLD. The Arctic conditions persist in the Paris region, and unless there is a rapid thaw at the end of this week, then Sundays' game at Bauer against Evry could be in doubt. With the fixture list congestion from now until the end of the season (and Red Star are still in the Coupe de Paris), then an early-May end to the season could very well be in doubt. Red Stars' remaining fixtures read like this:
Evry are the visitors to Bauer on Sunday. The men from the Essonne have proved to be difficult oppenents to manouevre, the three previous meetings between the clubs in the DH have all ended in draws.
TWO MATCHS. Following his red card received at Orly, Bourama Ouattara will miss two matches through suspension. |
