OUT WE GO !. Red Stars' under 18s missed out on the chance to go to the final of the Coupe de Paris, throwing away Milan-style a two goal lead to eventually lose 3-2 to Les Lilas. Speaking of that match, Saint-Ouen had a representant in the final in the form of Liverpool defender Djimi Traoré; who was actually born in the town. THIS WEEKEND |

MERCI.
SEASON OVER. Despite the "After the Lord Mayors' Parade" defeat at Brétigny, Red Star are still DH champions, and thus carry the title with a four-point advantage over nearest rivals Sannois-Saint-Gratien. For the Val d'Oise club, the play-offs loom, with the first game played on June 4th. Promotion for Sannois' reserves might just make up a little for the failure of their first team to win promotion to Ligue 2. BUS. The coach graciously proveided by the Saint-Ouen municipality proved to be a huge success. Thanks go to Karim Bouamrane, sports counciller at the Town Hall.
RESERVES. Ahmed Hamdani scored the decisive goal for the reserves in a 1-0 win over Poissy. Red Star have still an outside chance of making the play-offs in their division. |

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS !. By beating Evry 2-0, Red Star have finally achieved the first step in the long march back to the top flight of French football. Many people say that promotion from what is the sixth level of football in the hexagone is one of the hardest, and to add to this Red Star hit rock bottom before their climb back. Two years ago, back in May 2003 things were at rock bottom - the club was on the point of disappearing from the footballing map. The old regime had succeded in dragging this once proud club into the doldrums. Finally with the arrival of a new team of directors Red Star built from scratch, with a dedicated bunch of young players aided by the experience of Phil Cuervo and Yann Bell, a championship winning outfit. ALL THE SCORES. Meaux - Le Mée Sports 1-1, Saint-Leu - Cosmo 0-0, Arménienne - Sannois Saint-Gratien 1-2, Lusitanos - Morangis-Chilly 1-0, Aubervilliers - Versailles 2-0, Orly - Brétigny 1-0. MESSAGES. From all over the world to celebrate Red Star on their magnificent achievement: from Hungary, Andorra, New York, England, Cuba (via Le Mans !) Thanks to you all for your messages ! BILAL HAMMAI. Contrary to what we announced earlier, Red Stars' excellent full-back Bilal Hammami is not suspended for the trip to Brétigny, on 22nd May.

THE MOMENT OF TRUTH
ALMOST THERE. Red Star are now just one win away from promtion to the CFA2 following a late, late winner at Le Mée on Bank Holiday Thursday. Jimmy Hammes' goal, as the seconds were ticking down, means that Red Star just have to beat either Evry on Sunday at Bauer or Brétigny away in two weeks' time to seal the championship. NEXT GAMES. On Sunday Red Star are at home to strugglers Evry; Morangis-Chilly are at Saint-Maur against Lusitanos in need of the victory to ensure safety; Sannois Saint-Gratien have a tough trip to Arménienne; Saint-Leu v Cosmo (the Val D'Oise derby), Meaux v Le Mée Sports, Aubervilliers v Versailles & Orly v Brétigny. |

HAPPY CHAPPIES.
PROMOTION ISSUES. Three games left and still nothing is sorted, althoug the field is starting to string out a little. Red Star have a two point advantage over Sannois Saint-Gratien who appear to be Red Stars' most serious adversery. However, Morangis-Chilly and Meaux three and four points behind are still not out of it yet. Le Mée Sports are six points adrift and must be hoping to benefit by beating Red Star on Thursday. Sannois Saint-Gratien fielded several first team players in a hard-fought 2-1 win at Orly. Morangis-Chilly slumped at home 1-2 against relegation-battlers Evry. Next up for them is a trip to Sannois Saint-Gratien. Watched by Jean-Luc Girard, Arménienne and Le Mée drew 1-1. AllezRedStar.com had spies out at Saint-Leu where Brétigny were the visitors. With only two minutes remaining and the scores level at 2-2, Saint-Leu goalkeeper Bruno Miriel made a blunder in advancing too far at a Brétigny free kick, only to watch the ball drift over his head into the goal. The win makes things very tight at the wrong end of the table, but Versailles lost again 3-4 at home to Cosmo. Aubervilliers have appeared to booked their place in the DH for next season with a 2-1 win over Lusitanos. The race at the bottom of the table is as exciting as the top, and Red Star have a part to play in this with successive games against Evry (May 8th, home) and Brétigny (May 22nd, away). LATER THIS WEEK. The last coupld of weeks have been hectic for Red Star, what with the win against Lusitanos, the Coupe de Paris in midweek and the game against Meaux … this continues on Thursday with the trip to Le Mée (3-30pm CET), Stade Pierre de Coubertin, 221 avenue du Vercors in Le Mée-sur-Seine; then on Sunday Evry are the visitors. |
