NEWS ROUND-UP. Red Star go into the festive season break sitting proudly on top of the table after a fine start to the season that has seen only tow defeats in the opening thirteen matches. The series continues with Saturdays' 1-0 win at Chantilly, although Red Star at times failed to impress as they have done in other matches. THE RESULTS APOLOGIES. For the problems experienced yesterday with the site; Lycos who host the site had technical issues which meant that the site was unavailable for large parts of the day and our visitors were unable to connect to the site. Although the issues were beyond our control, we apologize for any inconveniece caused. SHIRTS. Red Star are experiencing some problems with the supply of replica shirts which means that they will not be on sale until the start of 2006. Apologies for this. Meanwhile, the excellent « RED STAR » book written by Pierre Laporte & Gilles Saillant (Editions Sutton), is still on sale from Red Star and most good bookshops. INJURY LIST Despite missing the game through injury, Philippe Cuervo, Vincent Fourneuf, Amine Chamma and Ludovic Pages were on hand to support their team mates. Ludovic Pages was hoping to back in shape for the Chantilly game before picking up another knock in training on Wednesday. The same also applies to Vincent Fourneuf who still hopes to be back for the New Year and the home game against Abbeville. Amine Chamma will be in plaster until the 27th December when he will start the road to fitness again. |

ABDALLAH DOUBTFUL. Red Stars' classy midfielder Taïeb Abdallah looks doubtful for the short trip to Chantilly on Saturday following a knock picked up in training. For those wanting to go to the match on Saturday, note that trains from Paris on the RER D line are virtually back to normal following an industrial dispute. Chantilly is worth a visit, plenty to see and do and is only 50km north of the capital. ALSO THIS WEEKEND |

DIFFICULT TIMES. Red Stars' first XI may be enjoying a spell of success at the moment and the reserves are well placed in the DHR, but for some of Red Stars' other teams, there is still room for improvement. Let us hope that 2006 will bring a turn around in fortunes for the under 18s, under 14s and the under 13s. CFA 2 GAMES IN HAND. Two re-arranged games took place over the weekend, one of which has a bearing on the top of the table. Firstly, Le Havre strengthened by several first-team players beat Evreux 3-0 whilst Saint-Omer beat Armentières 2-0. |

AMIENS. As stated in the match report, Red Star slipped to a defeat at home to a lively Amiens outfit strengthened by several first-team regulars. But the game will be remembered more for the actions of one nob-head, who has already distinguished himself on several occasions over the last couple of seasons. With ten minutes or so remaining, a plastic bottle full of water was thrown from the crowd onto the pitch, although no-one was in the vincinty of its landing, fortunately. The fourth official saw this, as did the referee, and the game as very nearly abandoned. (In this case Red Star get zero points). The repercussions for Red Star are enormous, the club risks to lose points, have the ground closed (match behind closed doors or ordered to be played away from Bauer), a fine or even all of these options. The PA man at Bauer passe an announcement stating that on objects should be thrown onto the pitch, and shortly afterwards the moron who threw the bottle continued his tireade against the PA man, calling him various unpleasant names and offering him out ! The police arrived and the thug soon disappeared, fortunately. In the last seconds, however, someone also threw a ladies shoe onto the touchline. We will have to wait and see for the outcome of the disciplinary hearing, but with Red Stars' behaviour already under close scrutiny, we fear the worst. TABLE. Despite the defeat, Red Star are still on top. Concerning the amateur clubs, results went more or less Red Stars' way, especially the defeat of Oissel. RED STAR - NOT FOR SALE !. These are the unambiguous words of President Bruno Davoine, announced at Saturdays' meeting organised by the Collectif at Stade Bauer on Saturday. He went on to state that there had been no contact with former Marseille supremo Bernard Tapie nor with any other club with a view to a merger.
SCARVES. The brand new scarf supplied by the Collectif, priced ten euros soon sold out - the association is currently negociating with the clubs' management to order some more. Interested ? Mail us !
CUERVO - SWINDON LEGEND. Philippe Cuervo spoke exclusively to AllezRedStar.com prior to the game, and told us that he had recently read postings on a Swindon Town FC forum, in which Phillippe emerges as something of a folk hero at the west-country club. Philippe was genuinely touched by the praise he has (deservedly) received. His future hopefully lies with Red Star, and in particular the setting up of the new youth academy. Despite the off-field activities with Red Star, he is also determined to get back into playing action in a green shirt. A genuinely nice guy, AllezRedStar.com hope to work with Philippe soon as a contributor to this site... top bloke !

TWO MORE REMAINING. Just two championship games remain before 2005 draws to a close. Tomorrow Amiens are the visitors to Stade Bauer, currently second in the league and seven points behind Red Star. In a fortnights time, Red Star travel the short distance to Chantilly. After last weeks' snow sleet and rain, damp conditions are predicted again in the Paris region. Nevertheless AllezRedStar.com will be braving the conditions to bring you photos and echos from the game.
