Meanwhie coach Naidon could have a problem with naming his line-up for the game against Dieppe on Saturday at Bauer (6pm CET) as Mickaël Marquet returns from trials with Entente SSG carrying a knock.

HAPPY NEW YEAR ! To all our readers, wherever you are in the world ! May 2007 bring you peace & prosperity.

2007 STARTS WITH FRIENDLY DEFEAT Red Star played a preparation game in the eastern Parisian suburbs on Saturday against the reserve team of L2 outfit Créteil. Coached by former Red Star favourite Jean-Michel Bridier, Créteil are enjoying a good run in the CFA 2 this season, and against Red Star cruised to a fine 3-1 win, Red Stars' late reply coming from an 87th minute Greg Lefort penalty. Red Star coach Bruno Naidon blooded several youngsters from the reserves in the secnd half.

RESERVES LOSE Red Stars' second XI suffered another setback in their promotion campaign, losing 2-0 at strugglers Sarcelles. Meanwhile the third XI could only draw 2-2 in their championship game against Jeunesse d’Aubervilliers.
COUPE DE FRANCE Although Red Stars' interest ended some time ago, they are still affected indirectly by the competition. Firstly their game against Concarneau had to be postponed by one week due to their opponents' involvement in the cup. Now, it appears that the game normally programmed for the weekend of the 20th of January at Pontivy will have to be rescheduled due to Pontivy having a Coupe de France tie that weekend. New date could very well the 27th of January.
Speaking of the cup, Red Star lost out in an earlier round on penalties to Palaiseau. On Sunday Palaiseau finaly bowed out of the cup after a good run, losing 4-0 at home to CFA 2 outfit Laon. The draw has been made for the next round, and Laon are due to play.... Lyon ! If only Red Star hadn't lost...
