NEW SIGNINGS AT RED STAR Red Star, whom recently lost their appeal to recover the one point deducted by the FFF as a result of crowd problems, will start the season in the CFA2, Frances' fifth division. The make-up of the division will shortly be announced; as is common in France at the end of each season, clubs at higher levels sometimes are forcibly relegated due to financial reasons, so the situation is always somewhat confused. Nevertheless this has not stopped new coach Alain MBoma from recruiting and here are the new faces at Saint-Ouen:
Serge Mimpo Tsintseme defender, aged 35 and former Olympic champion with Samuel Eto'o in 2000. Arrives at end of contract with Paris FC (National)
Xavier Lo Mele : Goalkeeper. Red Stars' nemesis in the recent Coupe de Paris defeat against Levallois, where he stopped a Red Star penalty
Cyrille Busquet : A good old-fashioned winger with CFA experience.
Johan Boulon : Defender, once with Villemomble
Bertrand Abissonono : Centre Half.
Alex Baldini : Left-sided defender, from the youth academy at RC Lens. Can play in more than one position in defence.
Wilson Moreira : Fom Alfortville, (sent off against Red Star at Bauer, incidentally !) Livewire striker.
Hamdy Razak : Young striker with CFA 2 experience.
Peguy Ngam : Youngster, can play anywhere.
RESERVES Red Stars' reserves will play in the DSR next season, the second level of Parisian football and seventh nationally. In the group are ACBB, Le Chesnay, Créteil, Franconville, La Garenne Colombes, FC Mantois, Meaux, Neauphle, Palaiseau, Sucy et Les Ulis, against whom Red Star open their campaign, at home on September 6th.
