RED STAR DRAW BLANKS - AGAIN. The season 2009-2010 is now two games old and Red Star still haven't given the scoreboard operator anything to do yet. On Saturday at Bauer in front of a disappointing attendance (350) the strikers were again kept at bay by Libournes' stubborn defending and the mentality of avoiding defeat at all costs. Whereas Red Star were more in evidence in the 1-0 defeat against Fontenay, and even could have won the game, against Libourne it was a different story that left coach Alain Mboma fuming at the end of the game. The visitors were without recent recruit Yoann Djidonou, released from Red Star at the end of last season after three seasons with the club. Benin international goalkeeper Yoann will have his progress monitored by Bordeaux, whom have a partnership deal with their neighbours Libourne.
CFA RESULTS PATRICK On a personal note, AllezRedStar.com, the first-ever Red Star internet site, is sorry to hear of the passing away of long-time Red Star supporter Patrick Château, following a long illness. Patrick rarely missed games, home or away and steadfastly stuck with the club through the dark years of Marville and the aftermath. Our friends from Dulwich will probably remember Patrick and his affection for English football and supporters. Our sympathies to his family and friends.
CHANGES Eagle-eyed visitors may have noticed that recently the "Official Red Star FC 93 site" has disappeared from the home page. Well, as of this week we are no longer the official organ of the club, our president has decided that AllezRedStar.com will be replaced by a new site entirely under the control of himself & his staff. We had a choice of becoming the official archives site or going our own way; we have taken the latter option. Time will tell if it the correct one !! A bit of history for you: AllezRedStar.com was founded in 1998 in order to get an internet presence for Red Star, as an independant site. Through the dark years up to 2003 we carried on, despite everything. In 2004 we were asked to be the official site for the club by the then president Bruno Davoine, and up to the arrival of the present incumbent we haved served the club. |

RED STAR IN CFA The saga of Red Star and CFA / CFA 2 appears to have drawn to a close with the news that the FFF have placed Red Star in the South-Western group C of the CFA. Initially Red Star were relegated from the CFA at the end of last season when they were docked one point by the FFF for crowd problems at Bauer. Red Star appealed, lost their appeal, before taking the matter to the Olympic Sports' Commitee, whom decided that the point deduction was unfair and recommended that the Football Federation return the point to Red Star. However, the FFF refused so Red Star went to the courts. The court decided in favour of the Saint-Ouen Club, which ordered that the FFF reinstate the club in the CFA. With the fixture lists already printed, this gave the FFF something of a headache. Finally, Toulouse Rodeo FC were denied promotion to the CFA, so Red Star were awarded their place, albeit in a group where, apart from Paris SG reserves, the nearest game takes place in Le Mans, some two hours from Paris ! |
