Cambrai

AIMS FOR THE SEASON

Well-placed at the end of last season, Cambrai are aiming for promotion to the CFA this season. Cambai have previously featured in the old third division and were once the French amateur vice-champions, losing out to Gazélec Ajaccio (2-4 aet) in 1964. Cambrai even managed promotion to the second division in the 1970s. In the Coupe de France Cambrai proved to be a real giant-killer, reaching the last sixteen in 1969.
Red Star and Cambrai have crossed swords before, but mainly Red Stars' reserves. Other than that, there have been a few cup cofrontations:
-1971 : Red Star won over two games (1-1 & 0-0), then on penalites 5-4
-1972 : Red Star won 3-1
-1992 : Red Star win away, 3-0 at the Stade de la Liberté.
Cambrai - Red Star 93 : 0-3. Goals : Bouiche (53, 79), Bourdoncle (86)
