DID YOU KNOW …

Cherbourg was formed from the mereger in 1945 of eleven clubs, including Stella de Cherbourg whome knocked Red Star out of the Coupe de France on the 6th January 1929. Red Star, the holders, won the game easily by four goals to nil, but fielded Oreste Diaz … Coupe de France winner 1928 … ineligible to play for the club.
