RED STAR 1 LE MANS 1 …
version 1993-1994, in D 2
(8th April 1994)

Red Star News

From the match program Red Star News :
« SINCE THE WIN over Nancy, Red Star 93 continue their good run : 8 points taken from 10.
Solidly placed fifth, the Audoniens wait for the slightest sign of weekness from the front-runners in order to close the gap on them. This evening Red Star 93 welcome Le Mans, a side that is fighting for survival in division 2. A struggel for points is in prospect. Let's count on Ratko Dostanic, ex-Manceau to help his side reach forty points before the trip to Nice and the home game against Rouen on April 23rd.

Red Star fail to capitalise on the defeats of Bastia and Nîmes, two other promotion hopefuls, and have to settle for a draw against Le Mans.
« With a magnificent diving header, following a cross from Jean-Didier Leuregans, Steve Marlet scored his first goal in six months. Against a Red Star side lacking in calmness, Le Mans earned an equaliser through Fiawoo (5 goals in 5 games). The Manceaux could therefore regreat his thirty-day absence through injury ! »

Also in the Le Mans line-up, former Red Star man Jean-Michel Bridier.

At the end of that season in D 2 Red Star finished fifth whilst Le Mans avoided the drop in 17th place.
