RED STAR AROUND THE WORLD

Red Star, as you by now know, are one of France's most-loved clubs and are one of the few that possess an English version Internet site. One thing is definite, they are the only amateur club in France to have an English version. The club is unique in many ways - take the name, for a start. Not only is it definitely "non-French", it is also one of the few in this country that give no clue as to where the club is actually situated. (Unless you know that 93 is the Département of the club). In addition, the stadium is one of the best-loved in France, especially outside of the country, where it still retains its very English appearance and atmosphere, a contrast to the modern soul-less concrete stadia and a throwback to the days when football was played in a "proper" stadium. No running track either, so the players are close the spectators.
Back in October we at AllezRedStar.com launched an appeal to our international visitors to contribute their thoughts / experiences / opinions on Red Star and the Stade Bauer, to get to know just why a club languishing in the fourth division attracts so much attention from outside of France.

The next reply we received was from Gabriele in Milan, Italy.

First Name: Gabriele

City & Country: Milan, Italy.

Approximate age: 42.

Team you support: Inter FC

How long have you followed AllezRedStar.com & Red Star ?: About 5 years.

Have you ever seen a Red Star game ?: Unfortunately not, I was in Paris a lot of times but never went to Stade Bauer

Do you intend to visit Stade Bauer & Red Star ?: Sure, I swear I'll visit the "sanctuary" the next time I'll be in Paris

How did you discover Red Star & AllezRedStar.com ?: it's a long story here, first of all I love France and support your national team since 1994 (seems strange, as Italian, but I was almost crying in "that" night in Berlin.....). Second, it seemed very strange that a French football club had an "english" name, so I began to support this "strange" team in mid '90 and never abandoned you (I still remember my "visits" in FFF official site to have news about you in the "black" seasons, DHR and so on.........). Third, if I can...., Red Star is a symbol I still believe in....

Any other comments, opinions etc: well, mates, thanks for the site, it's a very useful tool to breath Red Star's air for the ones who live hundreds of km away from Paris.... Ah, obviously, I'm dreaming the day I'll go to San Siro stadium to see CL leg Milan AC - Red Star93 - .....0-2, of course......

Our thanks to Gabriele for his contribution. If you would like to have your say on Red Star, Stade Bauer, whatever,
What we would like to do is for some of you to tell us a bit more about yourselves; which country you live in, who you support, etc... if you could drop us a mail in reply to the few simple questions below, we will then publish your replies and translate them into French as well to publish them on the French version of the site. You don't have to give all your details, just a first name, which city (roughly) and which country you come from. Obviously we'd appreciate this in English, but if you feel more confident in your own language, then we can handle German, Polish, Portugese and Spanish.. other languages could be a tad tricky although we'd try...
