Updated 28th September :TRAINING. The usual half-an-hour-each-way training match yesterday evening ended with a victory for the "possibles" over the "probables" by 1 goal to 0. Laurent Castro, Kamel Ouejdide and Brahim Thiam were rested whilst Patrick Van Kets refereed. The game featured a triallist, as well as a confrontation between Hakim Saci and Van Kets... old habits die hard, and Hakim even rants at his team-mates during a training friendly match...humm..
IN THE ARCHIVES. Digiing through the archives we noticed that fifteen years ago, Red Star, then in D2 lost 4-1 at home to Béziers and slipped to nineteenth place in the table. History repeating itself ?
MINUTES SILENCE. There will be a minutes' silence this weekend at Marville in honour loyal Red Star supporter Pierre Pérez, who passed away last week.
ALSO TAKING PLACE THIS WEEKEND. Amongst the THIRTY-TWO Red Star sides playing this weekend, note the following games..

COMING TOMORROW. Your chance to win a copy of the Centenary CD (French version only)... question will appear tomorrow... don't miss it !
Pacy-Red Star 93, April 2000

Updated 27th September :NO CHOICE BUT TO WIN. We've been saying the same thing for a long time, but really Red Star must beat Pacy-sur-Eure. On paper, the difference between the two clubs is enormous - on one side a club with the biggest budget in the division, on the other a blub which struggles to get by on limited means (4MF budget). But football is played on grass, not on paper, and on the pitch Pacy are one point ahead of Red Star, and out of the danger zone. Defeat for Red Star and providing Thouars beat Besançon, the Red Star could very well be bottom of the league on Saturday evening. A win is vital before two tricky away trips to Dijon then to Pau. The match kicks off at 7pm CET and will be refereed by M. Sergeant.
NEWS FROM THE SICK BAY. Laurent Castro and Kamel Ouejdide should be available, but not Franck Busuttil victim of a stress fracture.
RECRUITMENT. Two clubs have strengthened their squads recently - Brest have signed former Saint-Denis-Saint-Leu man Mickaël Lagadec, and Noisy-le-Sec have signed Eric Boniface from Paris FC.
YOUNGSTERS. After three matches in their championship, the Under 17's are in seventh place with six points in a group dominated by the big guns Auxerre and Nancy with 12 points. In the under 15's, after two games, the Audoniens are in fourth place with five points, three behind leaders Lens.

Updated 26th September :PABLO NERUDA. Next Sunday, at 3pm CET the reserves of Red Star defend their 100% record, at home to fourth placed Poissy, at the Stade Pablo Neruda, Saint-Ouen.

Updated 25th September :DEBUT. Another youngster made his debuts against Istres on Saturday - reserve team defender Mickaël Natchimie stepped up from the CFA 2 to the National, replacing the suspended Robert Gomis.
ABSENTEES. Injured Laurent Castro, Kamel Ouejdide and Franck Busuttil missed the trip, as did Walid Aïchour rested for the game.
BRAHIM THIAM. The departure of the likeable Red Star defender seems inevitable, and it appears that English club Crystal Palace is to be his next port of call.
Sondage UNDER 17S. First win of the season for the Under-17s, beating Jarville 4-0.
UNDER 15S. A defeat at the Ile des Vannes, Red Stars' youngsters going down 2-0 against Le Mée.
HAVE YOUR SAY. Your opinions are always welcome, feel free to have your voice heard about Red Stars' lamentable start to the season. In addition, your opinion can help us to further improve the site. Just take a couple of minutes out to complete our questionnaire, cheers !

Updated 22nd September SATURDAY DEPARTURE TO ISTRES. In order to get to Istres for the away game, Red Star take a plane on Saturday morning to Marseille, completing the trip by bus. The return is planned for Sunday morning. The squad should be more or less the one which ground out the 0-0 draw with Valenciennes. As usual the team will be accompanied by "Petit Louis" Goya (pictured) with his perpetual smile - even more so in case they win ! Last season, on the 18th September 1999, Red Star lost 2-1 after taking the lead through Karim Fellahi.
YOUTH TEAMS. The under 15's are at home to Le Mée, Sunday 3pm CET at the Ile des Vannes (Saint-Ouen). The under 17's are away at Jarville.
OTHER MATCHES. No CFA 2 this weekend, as the Coupe de France gets underway. The Espoirs of Red Star 93 are at home to CO Vincennes, 3-30pm CET Sunday at the Stade La Motte at Bobigny.

Updated 21st September DSR : LEVALLOIS – RED STAR 3-2. Red Stars' youngsters received a hard lesson for their first match in the DSR, against a team older and more experienced than themselves. Despite leading 2-1, Red Star conceded two goals in the dying seconds and went down 3-2 at Levallois.

Updated 20th September PIERRE PEREZ. Pierre Pérez, Red Star 93 supporter for over twenty years passed away yesterday morning. Regulars at Bauer, Marville, Neruda and the Ile des Vannes as well as countless away trips will remember Pierre. He also watched the training sessions, and never forgot to tell us all the latest news and stories. Every defeat was a blow for Pierre, but he always looked forwards to better days. He will be missed... salute, Pierre, all your friends and colleagues will never forget you.

CYRIL DOMORAUD. Will soon be on his way to Corsica, from Inter Milan after spells at Bordeaux and Marseille.
ANORAK CORNER. For all you trainspotters, here is an interesting comparison between the state of play in the National after eight games this season, the final table and the staus so far this season. Note that of the top three in September last year, only Beauvais achieved promotion. Angers and Martigues were still a long way off. Note also the improvement of Valenciennes.

FABRICE DORIZON. At the end of his contract with Rouen, in the CFA, ex-Red Star man Fabrice was looking for a club. He has found one - Rouen.

Updated 18th September MICKAEL PIZZO IS BACK. Just before Sundays' Under-17's match at the Ile des Vannes, we met up with Mickaël Pizzo, just out of the Sunday morning debriefing session.
Mickaël Pizzo On Saturday Mickaël Pizzo made his return to the first team. At the age of ten, Mickaël arrived at Red Star and has steadily worked his way through the various levels including a three week spell at the INF Clairefontaine alongside Thierry Henry and Nicolas Anelka. Four times selected for the French Under-16 side (Luxembourg – France 0-1, France – Northern Ireland 4-0, Israel – France 2-0 and Malta – France 1-0), he played alongside several players now plying their trade in D1, including Landreau (Nantes), Christanval (Monaco) and Chabbert (Lens). Upon his return to Saint-Ouen, he stepped into the reserves team in CFA 2, played several matches in D2, had a good start to the season last year in the National before several months in the wilderness. Despite a few injuries at the start of this season, Mickaël is back, and is ripe to be one of the key pieces in the Red Star setup. Time passes and Mickaël wants to pursue a career which has started so promisingly.
Okay then Mickaël, tell us about your return ?
"I felt good in the rythmn of the game, I came out of it happy."
Your return was good, but the result ahieved by the team was average.
"We've let slip two points again at home, and given the circumstances, not a good result. But, it isn't easy to perform against a side which has come here just to defend. Valenciennes' target was to earn a point, and for us it was to win. On paper Valenciennes were the winners, but at least our game is becoming more consistent. All it takes is a series of good results. We already have a set of good competitive players."
Mickaël Pizzo Did you take enough attacking risks to change the outcome ?
"Don't forget, we were down to ten for the second half, we thought before pushing forward more players to support the attack. This morning we discussed this point, and we felt that Patrick Van Kets was a litle bit isolated in their penalty area, amongst a sea of blue shirts. We'll have to remedy this problem, and try to provoke more the opposition in their penalty area."
A tricky trip this weekend to Istres, who are going sell, especially with a motivated player such as Aziz Belissaoui.
"We'll sort Aziz out, but the importance against a top club is to win. (twelve points separate the two clubs). We've noticed that other than Grenoble, we haven't yet come up against one of the top sides. We are obliged to get a winning run going, starting at Istres."

THE NATIONAL. Nearly five thousand at Brest, four thousand at Amiens, whereas the lowest crowd of the day was at Marville.
CHANTILLY – RED STAR 93. Returning to Saturdays' reserve team game in the CFA2, the outstanding players were Natchimie and Sangar.
Goals :Milton (31st, penalty), Le Maux (72nd minute)
Red Star : Bayiha - El Othmani, N'Goma, Natchimie - Sangar (Deom, 79), Tacalfred, Abda, Milton - Saci (Serreau, 28), A. Gomis (Le Maux, 65), Rangdet. Coach : Fiatte.
Bookings : Saci (26), Tacalfred (33), Abda (78).
UNDER 17'S. The match between Red Star 93 and Auxerre at Under-17 level is bound to be an attractive proposition, given Auxerres' record at junior level (several championships at both under 15 & under 17, wins in the Gambardella Cup, representatives in the CFA as well as players going on to represent their country).
Jimmy Hamme A respectable crowd for this encounter, families and friends of the Red Star players as well as of the visitors. Many of the visitors' cars are registerd from the Paris area, as for several years now, Guy Roux has made many recruits from the Ile de France.
Due to the fuel crisis, last weeks' round of matches had been cancelled, so Red Star had a little longer to prepare for their revenge after losing 1-0 against Magny against the run of play.
Alain Bornands' pupils started the game brightly, and on five minutes were rewarded with a free-kick following obstruction right on the edge of the Auxerre area. Unfortunately the movement produced nothing, unlike a similarly positioned kick to the visitors moments later, which was converted by Llop.
Red Star pressed back, and came close to equalising, only for an Auxerre defender to clear the ball off his line. Just before the break, Auxerre doubled their lead through Djebbour.
The second half was faily balanced. With a quarter of an hour remaining Red Star twice hit the bar, but Auxerre extended their lead further with three minutes remaining. Jimmy Hamme (pictured) restored some pride with a last minute penalty for Red Star.
RED STAR 93 : Soreau, Montiounguissa, Agoh, Dintoo, Ekani, Diawara A., Traoré, Deom R., Gassama, Hamme, Germano. Subs. Ouattara, Lakrout, Miza.
AUXERRE : Chambert, Baumann, Petitjean, Hatim, Allio, Bitangène, Leal, Rioli Dalmaso, Djebbour, Llop, Mithias. Subs. Solfiaru, Hebda, Maraninchi.
CENTENARY CD. Patrick Pierquet has produced a CD abou the Centenary Celebrations. In French only, but there are interviews with Jean-Claude Bras, Nestor Combin, Christian Laudu and Jean-Jacques Amorfini amongst others, and a brief resumé of events of the night of the 28th March 2000 at the Stade de France. The CD costs 69 F + 25 F p&p. Interested ? Send a mail to :

Updated 18th September CASCARINO BACK IN TOWN… Tony is back... but only as a spectator. On holiday for the moment, while he ponders his future, the amiable striker confided in us his disappointment with the way things worked out or rather didn't work out with Red Star. Unfortunately his style of play wasn't the method preferred by coach Lemée. A coach which preferred to ignore years of experience in top-flight English, Scottish and French football, an illustrious international career with World Cup experience, the goals scored last season in a tough one for his club Nancy... for what ? Saturday nights' blank drawn against VA, along with similar ones at Reims, at home to Grenoble speak volumes - at Marville Red Star were screaming out for a top-notch goalscorer alongside Van Kets, alone for much of the game. Think of great goalscoring partnerships of the recent past - Sutton & Shearer, for example... Lemée is hopeless, time for him to go. Bring Back Tony !!!
REFEREE. At the end of the match Red Stars' Managing Director Michel Moulin as well as coach Jacky Lemée had a good loan about the referee M. Djouzi, calling the sending-off of Robert Gomis harsh - well, he did a tackle from behind, and although the law may be an ass, the ref only did his job and applied the law. Now as for the foul on Castro, whether or not it was worth a penalty, impossible to say with any degree of accuracy from a viewpoint eighty yards away in the stands... instead of moaning about what could have been, concentrate on the job in hand.
TRAORE. Looks like Red Star have signed the wrong Traoré, as playing for Valenciennes was Mody, and making his debut. He was everywhere, and had an excellent start, unlike Red Stars' namesake, who ws largely anonymous. Incidentally, Mody played last season at Nancy, alongside a certain Tony Cascarino.
KADER. Also making his debut was Kader Ferhaoui, at least his home debut.
BACK IN THE PACK. Mickaël Pizzo was back in the first team and was busy in midfield. Out wide was Franck Busuttil, who had a reasonable game.
RESERVES. Five out of five, the reserves are currently doing a mini-"Fulham", and at Chantilly on Saturday the good run continued with an excellent 2-0 win. Milton scored from the spot and Le Maux finished off the job. Red Star 93 are three points ahead of Moissy-Cramayel, struggling to a 2-1 win over Blénod and four ahead of Tinqueux, who beat Paris SG 3-1. Poissy lost at home to promoted Châlons en Champagne 2-0. Other results : Evry – Saint-Dizier 7-1, Chaumont – Créteil 1-2, Ivry – Senlis 3-1 & Auxerre – Toul 4-0. Christophe Fiatte watched the under-17s at the Ile des Vannes and was in bouyant mood. Next weeked is a rest weekend before a game on the 1st October at Pablo Neruda.

Gérald Milton / Guénaël Le Maux

UNDER 17s. A defeat at the Ile des Vannes, against Auxerre 1-3 (0-2), Jimmy Hamme scoring the goal.
UNDER 15's. A 3-2 win over Wasquehal.

Franck Busuttil

Updated 15th September RED STAR 93 – VALENCIENNES. Tomorrow evening at Marville, an important clash between two sides in dire straits. The winner can look forwards to better days, here's hoping that it will be Red Star. For the match Red Star fans have the opportunity to see new recruit Kader Ferhaoui, perhaps even newer recruit Dambou Traoré. The squad of fourteen should be more or less the same as the one that featured in the midweek training match against the UNFP, with the return of Patrick Van Kets, injured last Saturday at La Roche. Franck Busuttil (pictured), victim of a knock during the game on Wednesday should also be available.
NEW FEATURE. A brief report of the match together with the evenings' results should appear on our sister site,
http://pageperso.aol.fr/redstar189/mapage/mespassions.html; note that as Gérards' English isn't up to it, there will only be a French version. Sorry !
OTHER RED STAR MATCHES THIS WEEKEND:
DSR : Levallois – Red Star 93, Stade Louison Bobet, Levallois, 3-30pm CET Sunday
District : Pantin – Red Star 93, Stade Auray at Pantin 3-30pm CET Sunday

Updated 14th September NATIONAL WEEK 8. In theory an "easy" weekend for the top teams in the league... Grenoble are at Thouars whilst Amiens welcome Louhans-Cuiseaux. The latter are experiencing something of a crisis at the moment, last weekend one of their players quit the pitch during the match against Ajaccio as the visitors rattled in their fourth goal past the Louhans keeper. In turn the Corsicans are at home to Noisy-le-Sec, Istres travel to Pau and Clermont Foot play Alès. Other games : Brest – Besançon, Pacy-sur-Eure – Dijon, Valence – La Roche-sur-Yon. A blast from the past at Colombes as Racing CP take on Reims and also two teams for whom losing is not an option, Red Star 93 – Valenciennes.
ALSO THIS WEEKEND: Under 15's are in the north at Wasquehal, whilst their older breathren the under 17's welcome group favourites Auxerre at Ile-des-Vannes (Saint-Ouen) on 3pm CET Sunday. Red Stars' reserves defend their top spot at Chantilly (9th), Stade des Bourgognes, rue des Bourgognes at Chantilly, Saturday 3pm CET.
A QUICJ STOP AT RED STAR. The passage of Florian Albert was rather brief, less than six months at the start of the season 1998-99. Olivier Lemaire, supporter of Red Star and French teacher in Hungary was on a recent visit to Marville and told us that he had come across Florian Albert. Having ended his playing career in Austria, Florian has now embarked on a new career, training to be a sports teacher.

David Giraudo / Florian Albert

FIVE MONTHS ON … and Gueugnon are labouring somewhat in D2, whilst Red Star have difficulties in the National. However one of the two have the possibility to step into the limelight, away from domestic problems with a match in the UEFA cup at home to the Greeks of Iraklis Salonique. Amara Traoré leads his troops into battle as he did, pictured below at Marville, back in April. Good luck to Gueugnon.

Red Star-Gueugnon, 3/4/2000

Updated 13th September RED STAR – U.N.F.P. Good for the morale, a 3-0 win over the UNFP out-of-contract players. Goals scored by Ouejdide (25th minute, following good work by Ferhaoui), Faye (43rd, free-kick) and Randget (80th minute solo effort, keeping cool under pressure).
RED STAR 93 : Branger (Bayiha 46), R. Gomis, Oponga, Saxemard, Faye, Saragaglia (Pizzo 46), Busuttil (Tacalfred 36), Traoré, Ferhaoui (Aïchour 75), Ouejdide (Randget 46), Castro (Saci 46).
Rested : Van Kets (see below), Perron (broken nose), Thiam.
Amonst the UNFP players, several familiar faces to Red Star, Benjamin Clément, Joël André, Alain Durand and Laurent Delanoue, and they have another friendly tomorrow evening at D1 club Sedan.
Jean-Claude Bras, 1966 VAN KETS. Patrick Van Kets was rested, no doubt in readiness for Saturdays' important game versus Valenciennes. Kick off 7pm CET.
FIVE POINTS BEHIND. Red Star 93 had ten points this time last season, considered to be a miserable haul at the time. This season the tally is five, so problems ahead...
RED STAR – VALENCIENNES, JEAN-CLAUDE BRAS A FOOT IN BOTH CAMPS. For the match Red Star – Valenciennes, Saturday evening, Jean-Claude Bras will remember that he has worn both the colours of Valenciennes and Red Star (see photo taken in 1966) as will Daniel Rodighiero, also a Valenciennes old boy.
LAURENT ROUSSEY. Following several bad performances, Laurent Roussey has taken the place of Gernot Rohr as the coach of D2 club Créteil. Formerly a player with Red Star, he was out of work since leaving CFA club Rouen.
RACING SIGN. A triallist with Red Star this season, ex-Ajaccio man Mickaël D'Amore has just signed for National rivals Racing.
QUIZ. The answer to yesterdays' little poser was of course Lillian Thuram.
STEVE MARLET. Last night the ex-Red Star man found the net again in the Champions' League for Lyon.
Paul Nicolas OLYMPIQUES AT SAINT-OUEN. The Olympic football tournament is already underway, ahead of Fridays' official opening ceremony, this time without France, who won the gold in 1984 in Los Angeles. In 1924, the French olympic team played a match in the Paris Olympics of that year at Saint-Ouen (27/5/24), hammering Latvia 7-0 before going down 5-1 at Colombes to Uruguay. Several Red Star players featured in both encounters - Bonnardel, P. Nicolas, Chayriguès. Paul Nicolas found the net three times, twice against Latvia and once versus Uruguay.

Updated 12th September RED STAR 93 – U.N.F.P. This evening at Stade Marville, Red Star 93 play a friendly versus the UNFP, the team made up of out-of-contract players. (5-30pm CET)
WHAT THE PAPERS SAID. OUEST-France of Monday said in its match report that Red Star were "feeble" and that spening millions of francs doesn't necessarily build a top team. They went on to say "Just as well that Red Star have big money to get themselves noticed this year !" strong words, but unfortunately very true.
BOOKINGS. In our match report we forgot to mention that La Roches' Billong (64) and Red Stars' Tacalfred (30) received cautions.
A WORLD CHAMPION AT NERUDA. In August 1992 at the Stade Pablo Neruda, current home to the nomadic Red Star reserves, The French under-21's played a friendly against Red Star reserves. The Blues won 2-1, but pictured below is a player who later went on to represent his country and whom now posesses World Cup and European Championship medals. To win a penant of Red Star 93, can you name the player ? Mail you answers to :

Updated 11th September CRAP WAY TO END THE WEEK. Firstly, the FFF ground grading comittee refused to grant a certificate to the Stade Bauer, effectively ending its days as a football ground. Then on Saturday the first team slumped to another away defeat at La Roche sur Yon.
BRAHIM THIAM. Brahim could be on his way out of Red Star 93, having been approached by English club Crystal Palace.
DAMBOU TRAORE. Ex-Créteil (D2) man has signed with Red Star 93. Midfielder, born 27th November 1977 in Paris.
RESERVES. On Sunday the reserves notched their fourthe straight win, beating Evry 2-1. Despite trailing 1-0 at the break, against the run of play, then losing the sent-off Fabrice Mary on the hour, firstly Arthur Gomis then Gérald Milton gave the victory to Red Star.

Safet Susic / Kader Ferhaoui

Updated the 8th September NEXT ON THE LIST. The trip to the Vendée presentes another test for Red Star. A win and Red Star are back on the right tracks. Some changes may have to be made for the away fixture, notably Saragaglia, suspended, as well as Laurent Castro, already an uncertainty before the match against Besançon. Whether or not new signing Kader Ferhaoui gets a start depends upon whether or not his new players' license arrives at the club today.
La Roche are currently going through a lean spell, and for the players with little or no experience of playing in the National, the repetition of relatively high-calibre matches comes as a shock to the system (cf Evry last season). Hammered at Pacy where they conceded a goal as early as the third minute, they went on to take three more goals in a period of twenty minutes after the pause, only a penalty by Suire saving their honour. They lined up as follows : Ardouin Pubert, Limousin, Guitton, Fernandez Pacreu, Leclève (Gaborit 60), Suire (cap.) (Binet 88), Vrignon Baylet, Orjubin (Mitri 60).
Tomorrow nights' referee is M. Laurent Huguenin of the region Basse Normandie, assisted by M. Dansault & M. Perruaux.
RENDEZ-VOUS AT NERUDA. Updated 6th September RED STAR 93 – BESANÇON. One point from the trip to Reims, tonights' target is to gain maximum points from the visit of Besançon. Hakim Saci, carrying an ankle injury risks to be sidelined for a long time. The away record of Besançon is not good reading, three defeats on their travels so far. Red Stars' defence will have to be on their guard against fomer player Cédric Lestic who knows Marville well. The Bisontins have signed striker Kernou from Come in Italys' Serie C.
No live match coverage tonight on the site - no facilities at Marville, sorry !

ABOUT THE SITE. Some features are regularly updated on this site, and the accent is towards the news as it happens, and the exclusives we bring to you. However, we will try not to neglect other pages, and to this end we will try and remedy things.
COming up soon we will be publishing a questionnaire about the site & the contents and what you think of it. With your help we can build the site into one of the best. Your opinions will be greatly appreciated.
A regular visitor to the site, and a loyal Red Star fan for many years wrote to us with his verdict on the match Racing - Thouars (5 - 1), work commitments not permitting him to make the trip to Reims. If anyone else would like to submit to us their verdict on a match, be it Red Star or even one of the other National clubs, please feel free to contribute to the site.

Updated 5th September LE GRAET (ONGOING). At the moment, it is very difficult to know exactly what is going on at Red Star. Rumours and counter-rumours circulate concerning the futures of the club and its directors. Firstly, in response to the article printed in L'Equipe on Sunday, Le Graët stated "Nothing is sure, yet, apparently you know more than I about this subject. One thing is clear, contrary to what you write, I am not looking for a way back into football".
As for the the president of Red star 93, he confirms to have met Noël Le Graët on several occasions. « He came to see me at the Stadium, and we did talk. But there has never been any question about Noël becoimng club president. On the other hand, he has advised me and indicated several things to do so that the club can get back on track." Jean-Claude Bras has decided to organise a meeting of the administrative council, and proposes to change the legal status of the club in order to establish its economic independance. From these words, it could be deduced that the idea of being resident club at the Stade de France has not yet been abandoned. But before all else, the main thing is to get thre results on the pitch. Has the notion of rebuilding Bauer been also left by the wayside ? In our opinion, going from Marville directly to a stadium with a capacity of 80 000 seems rather difficult.
Vincent Doukantie VINCENT DOUKANTIE TAKES OFF !. On the 26th August, Vincent Doukantie made his debut in Division one with Strasbourg. He played a blinder and helped his new team to their first win of the season. The confidence placed him by wily coach a Claude Le Roy was repaid in full. Nice one, Vince !
CFA 2. After three matches, Christophe Fiattes' reserve team are solid as a rock, best attack with nine goals scored, a hundred percent record. Next Sunday, at the Stade Pablo Neruda at Saint-Ouen, 3pm CET, they welcome Evry.
Other results : Auxerre-Ivry : 0-1, Paris SG – Senlis 0-3, Poissy – Tinqueux 1-0, Chantilly – Blénod 2-1, Chaumont – Metz-Toul 1-1, Moissy-Cramayel – Créteil 2-1, Evry – Châlons en Champagne 1-0.
RETIRE, ROLAND, RETIRE ! During the final of the Princes' Cup, a trophy competed for by ex-players of several clubs, TV commentator Thierry Roland in usual form stated that Lille were the forst club to have won three consecutive French Cups. He forgot that Red Star were in fact the first, in 1921, 22 and 23. Later he went on to say that Montpelliers' Bernard Ducuing, a substitue in the final had played for Paris FC. Sorry, Thierry, but Bernard Ducuing played five seasons at Red Star before moving on to Reims then Montpellier. Retire you old fart, before it's too late !

Updated 4th September CFA 2. Good news ! Red Star reserves beat Saint-Dizier 3-1 away to consolidate their position as league leaders. Well done Christophe Fiatte and goalscorers Milton & Abda.
A GOOD RESULT, FERHAOUI ON THE WAY IN AND LE GRAET LINKED WITH THE CLUB. According to the newspaper l'Equipe de Sunday, the ex-president of Guingamp and latterly of the Ligue National de Football is linked with Red Star.
« Noël Le Graët had put football to one side after his retirement from the world of business. His return to the world of the round ball could bemade sooner than expected. In agreement with the Sports minister Marie-George Buffet, the current Mayor of Guingamp is preparing a plan of action for Red Star, club in the National.
The long term aim is to build a club in Paris' northern suburbs to be the resident club at the Stade de France. Since the end of July, negociations have been taking place with Jean-Claude Bras, current club president. Eventually Noël Le Graët would become President of Red Star.
Having very good relations with Marie-George Buffet, who has a country house in the region of Guingamp, the ex-Leage president could now have a way open to the Stade de France. Now it is up to Bras to decide, a decision which could very well put him onto the sodelines at Red Star.
Note that as reported exclusively on this site on the
7th of August, Le Graκt was present for the match Red Star-Alès.
Reims-Red Star 93 MYTHICAL GROUND IN REPAIR. As part of the plan to develop the old Stade Delaune at Reims, a temporary stand of 3000 has been erected in front of the old Méano stand. The aim is to have a modern stadium of 22 000 places in 2006.

Happy, tired but having given a fine performance, as did Walid Aïchour, who said exclusively to this site "This should get us back on track. We'll be better prepared mentally for the next matches." Still the best site for the exclusives, eh !!!
YOHANN RANGDET. Another youngster to make his National debuts, substituting Patrick Van Kets half way through the second period.
MICKAEL TACALFRED. Mickaël played in midfield, and was tired at the end of the game, it's harder to cover all the ground in midfield, rather than in defence.
ONE MATCH. Brahim Thiam turned out to encourage his team-mates. Brahim was given a one-match ban for his red card, plau one more suspended. He has now served his ban.
