ASSOCIATION SPORTIVE DE LA JEUNESSE AUXERROISE

Two names stand out in the history of the club, the clubs' founder in 1905, Abbot Deschamps (the stadium is naled after him) and the larger-than-life figure of Guy Roux, coach from 1961 to 2000. Although now General Manager, Roux is still officially the clubs' coach as the present incumbent and sucessor to Roux Daniel Rolland does not hold the required coaching certificates.
Guy Roux led the Burgundy club from parks' football to be Champion of France 1996, including doing the league and cup double that season. They have won every cup possible - Champion de France D1, D2, D3, D4, Coupe de France, coupe Gambardella, under 17s, under 15s) - except the League Cup ! Auxerre also reached the semi-finals of the Champions' League in 1997.
