Product of one of Paris' suburban clubs, this player never really experienced the glory he deserved in the colours of Red Star. Despite being club top scorer in 1972-73 with eleven goals, Pintenat quit Saint-Ouen to set up camp in the south with Nîmes before starring at Sochaux when he was capped three times for his country. He made his debuts in the national squad with arguably the all-times greatest French footballer, Michel Platini at the Parc des Princes in 1976. In the same season he clocked up 21 league goals.
