REIMS is a mythical word in footballing circles in France. At the end of the 1950's, memories of great players such as Kopa, Fontaine, Piantoni, Vincent, Colonna and the other heros of Two European Cup Finals.
When Reims came to Paris to play Racing, crowds turned out in force to support Reims. Even during the 1960's, in Division Two, Reims succeeded in attracting 23 000 spectators to Stade Bauer for matches against the Red Star.
Reims, as have Racing and now Red Star experienced hard times. A plunge from top-flight football before rising again to build a new challenge in the third division. Not only on the pitch, but off it as the once-magnificent Stade Delaune will shortly be transformed from a ruin to a stadium worthy of the name. Last season, in a limited capacity 3500 Delaune, Reims often played before capacity crowds.
This term, many movements in and out of the club, going out were : Coquelet (Amiens), Duboscq (Istres), Jacquesson (Beauvais), Kajima (Noisy-le-Sec), Ketchenké (Rennes), Clément (Calais).
