PARIS FC-RED STAR, 15/11/87

By Gérard Valck

Nine years on, (15th November 1987), the new Red Star meet Paris FC for a fifth round cup match at the Stade de la Porte de Montreuil. The Audoniens are amongst the front runners in D3 and Paris FC are top of the Division d'Honneur.
Girard, Renaut, Heaulmé are sidelined for Red Star. The subs today are unknowns to the majority of supporters - Eddy Capron and Benjamin Clément. The latter is now back in the fold at Red Star following an interesting career, whilst the former went on to the D1 with Sedan, after Nantes and Rennes.
A derby played in good humour despite horrible climatic conditions, including torrential rain. However, the Red Star faithful leave the stadium disappointed, but having witnessed an excellent sporting spectacle.
Benjamin Clément, just entered onto the field of play opens the score following a Del Alamo free-kick spilled by the 'keeper Vaast (ex-Red Star). In the 74th minute Djaadaoui, cousin of another ex-Red Star coach equalises with a low drive, then in extra time the same Djaadaoui beats De Rocca for the second time, much to the delight of coach Pierre Lechantre (yet another ex-Audonien !).
Red Star : De Rocco, Aniol, Olivier, Morin, Del Alamo, Amours, Touati, Kedadouche, Acosta, Yally, Gudimard, Capron, Clément. Coach : Troussier.
Paris FC : Vaast, Lefevre, Adamski, Petit, Laachi, Darouane, Bennoui, Deltrez, Ferguène, M'Bock, Djadaoui, Colin, Poyet. Coach : Lechantre.
