For the first time ever, the two sides will meet at Stade Marville. Last years' game, won 2-1 by Red Star with both goals being scored by Richard Akiana, was played at the Stade de France, as part of Red Stars' centenary celebrations.

A vital derby match for the two Parisian clubs. Red Star 93 are fighting for their very survival in the National, while for Racing, each week sees vital points lost in their battle for promotion. The Racingmen are on a run of draws, and find themselves ten points behind the third-placed club.
The club from "Colombes", with a budget of 14 MF underwent many changes during the Summer, with fifteen players leaving and twenty arrivals. The recruitment even extended to the coach, with long-serving coach Jean-Marie Lawniczak moving aside for ex-GFCO Ajaccio coach Jean-Michel Cavalli.
