AMIENS - ADVERSAIRE DU  RED STAR 93

AMIENS SPORTIF CLUB FOOTBALL

Stade de la Licorne, Amiens
Stade de La Licorne

This years surprise cup finalists make their visit to the capital. The next time they will be in this area, it will be a bit further down the road at the Stade de Frane, but for the moment they will have to familiarise themselves with the route, making a slight detour at the end of their journey to La Courneuve. Amiens should bring one or two fans with them, thus giving a bit of atmosphere to an otherwise deserted stadium. They are still in the promtion hunt, and three points against already condemned Red Star will help their cause no end.

At the start of the season Denis Troch was unemployed - a contract was proposed by relegated Amiens, and the gamble has paid off, with Amiens back at the door of D2 and a trip to the Stade de France as the icing on the cake. Troch, a former Red Star player as is Cédric Fontaine, who played mainly in the reserves, but at that time his rivals for places in the first team were the likes of Marlet, Susic, Michel, Bourges, Dostanic, Fanzel, Gunia, Fiatte, Rodionov, Thimothée and coach Robert Herbin.

Amiens could line up as follows:
Lachuer, Lebrun, Abalo, Strzelzcak, Fontaine, Duchemin, Ewolo, Adjali, Darbelet, Sampil, Rivière. subs : Coquelet, Rivenet, Charlier.
In the game earlier in the season, Red Star came within a whisker of recording their firtst away win of the season, only to see their victory snatched away by a lte equaliser (1-1). In their last game, Amiens thumped Valenciennes 4-1.
